February 01 20152015-02-01Outdoor photo of a procession walking past a row of grey stone deity sculptures against a red wall on dry grass. A man in a white dhoti and bare chest with a long rudraksha mala holds a bright orange umbrella aloft. Beside him a man in an orange-saffron robe with a rudraksha mala walks, and a woman in a yellow saffron-style sari walks among followers in white and orange clothing. Several people follow along a path lined with weathered stone figures, including a seated stone deity with an ornate crown on the right and a figure on the left.2015-02-01A row of large dark grey stone sculptures of standing figures stands along a grey cinder-block wall in an open outdoor yard under an overcast sky. The statues wear ornate necklaces, bangles and armbands, and some hold objects in their hands. Smaller carved pieces and stone urns lie on the grass to the left. Several people in white and light-coloured clothing, one wearing a white shirt and others in sarees, walk among the statues at a distance on the left side of the yard.2014-09-21Outdoor photograph of a procession on a dry dirt path beside a row of large dark stone sculptures in the foreground on the right. A man in the centre wears a saffron-orange robe with a white dhoti and rudraksha-style beaded necklaces, and holds a bright orange umbrella aloft over his head. Around him walk a crowd of devotees: several women in red and maroon saris, men in white kurtas and dhotis, and a man in a checked shirt. Pale stone busts and a long open-sided shelter with a corrugated roof stand in the background under a hazy sky.2015-02-01August 23 20152015-08-23Outdoor photo at an ashram-style courtyard with pink buildings and a corrugated roof. A seated figure in saffron-orange robes with long dark hair sits on a white cloth-draped chair, facing away toward the left. Several men in white dhotis and shirts stand and move around a long white table holding gilded deity murtis, including figures in red, pink and orange garments, and a white figure with a golden halo. A man in white dhoti and an orange shawl stands at right. Plain brick blocks and dirt ground surround the scene.2006-12-22A photograph of a group of men gathered outdoors on a dirt ground beside thatched huts and palm trees, looking down at broken carved stone and terracotta fragments on the ground, including a large carved pillar-like piece and a stone head. A bald man in a white dhoti and white shawl, with glasses, extends his arm and points toward the fragments while speaking. Around him are men in orange and saffron robes, one in a green shawl and a few in pink-orange wraps. A long-haired man in orange robes wearing a rudraksha mala and a gold necklace stands at the centre-right, and another man in orange with a gold necklace stands beside him. Cardboard boxes and a bamboo fence appear at the right edge.2009-12-30December 19 20062006-12-19Outdoors under a leafy tree, a figure in saffron-orange robe and matching orange head wrap bends forward and touches a stone-built mound topped by a dark statue of a seated deity with a hooded serpent-like crest and orange drapery. Several people stand nearby: a woman in white sari with hands pressed together at the right, a man in a white t-shirt and light trousers at the far right, another man in a light shirt, and an older woman in white on the left. A small square stone slab with offerings lies at the lower right. The a person cue is ambiguous: the orange-robed figure has a head wrap but the page does not confirm his presence, so identity is not asserted.2003-01-01A photograph of a group of men outdoors on a dirt ground in front of a reddish earth bank and a brick wall with trees behind. Most wear plain white t-shirts and white trousers, several with shaved heads and dark beaded necklaces. A bald man in the centre, wearing a light grey shirt and teal-green shorts, smiles and presses palms together with a man in dark sunglasses and a grey t-shirt. Others stand with hands raised and palms together in a partner exercise, facing one another in a circle.2010-09-02A photograph taken inside a workshop with teal walls and blue shelving holding many unfinished grey stone and clay sculptures of deities, including seated and standing figures, a Nandi-like bull and small elephants. In the foreground a figure in a saffron-orange turban and saffron robe, with long dark hair and beard, stands with hands folded in front of the chest, turned toward the shelves. To the right, an older man with grey stubble and a tilak mark on his forehead, wearing a white cloth, faces the shelves beside him.2004-12-31A photograph of a temple abhishekam at an outdoor shrine with a stone shivalinga on a pedestal being bathed by water. A figure in an orange-saffron robe with long dark swept-back hair and a red bindi stands beside the lingam, with an apparent rudraksha-style wrap; this appearance is consistent with a person. To his left, a kneeling man in white dhoti and white shirt with a shaved head and tilak holds his palms together in namaskar. Behind them, a white-clad priest holds a brass pot pouring water, and another man in orange cloth stands nearby. A brass kalasha and small brass vessels sit on the floor, and a tall grey water tank and red cloth draping appear in the background.2007-02-23
