A photograph of a homa fire pit at night. Tall orange flames rise from a brick-edged square pit, consuming a heap of offerings and wood with red, orange and marigold-like petals scattered among the embers. Behind the pit, a white cloth with a green and brown border covers a table with small brass or clay vessels. No people are clearly visible; the frame shows only the fire and the altar area.2012-09-24 +1 copiesClose photograph of a large open flame rising from a brick-walled fire pit, a homa or yagna fire. The brick enclosure is edged with pink-purple cloth, scattered white grains and small offerings sit at its rim, and a metal bowl is at left. Blurred figures in white and green clothing stand behind the fire. Several dark bowl-shaped offerings and flower pieces lie in the foreground.2016-12-02April 14 20182018-04-14December 07 20162016-12-07November 29 20112011-11-29September 24 20122012-09-24April 26 20182018-04-26 +1 copiesSeptember 27 20172017-09-27October 15 20132013-10-15November 02 20132013-11-02April 14 20182018-04-14A square black metal fire pit holds a bright burning fire of wood logs with flames rising high. Around the pit lie short strands of thread or cord, a small brass vessel sits at the right edge, and a multicoloured woven mat lies on the ground. At the upper left a figure in white cloth rests against a yellow cushion, partly out of frame. The scene appears to be a homa or yagna fire during ritual. No people are clearly facing the camera and the fire is the main subject.2009-10-15
