July 08 20122012-07-08Outdoor photo on a hillside terrace with trees and a distant forested mountain behind. A seated figure in red and orange robes sits on an ornate gold-and-red throne under a red umbrella, with a red cushion before him. Nearby, several people in white and orange clothing sit on the floor in prayer; one standing person in white holds hands together. Brass vessels and a kalasha-like container stand on a mat in front, and a long table with metal bowls and offering plates sits to the right. A tripod-mounted camera is set up among the seated group. Standing devotees in orange shawls and dark clothes line the low wall at the left, watching the ritual. A puja or satsang-style gathering is taking place.2012-07-08July 08 20122012-07-08Outdoor ceremony under a canopy with a gilded throne at left. A bare-chested man with long dark hair, a rudraksha mala and a garland of marigolds sits on the throne, a striped tiger-print cloth draped over its back, and a saffron wrap over his lower body; the figure's appearance is consistent with the page's a person note, though the face is not used for identification. A man in white ritual dhoti and shawl with a shaved head stands nearby, and women in saffron, orange and cream saris sit on a green mat before a brass tray of flowers and offerings. A cameraman with a tripod-mounted camera films the scene in front of a crowd of men in white and grey and green trees.2012-07-03 +1 copiesJuly 08 20122012-07-08December 13 20112011-12-13February 03 20172017-02-03A photograph of an outdoor ashram courtyard under a corrugated roof with palm trees behind. A bald man in saffron robes films with a video camera on the left, and a large crowd of devotees stands in rows, many in white dhotis and saffron garments, with hands folded in prayer. In the centre a woman in an orange sari stands beside a golden chariot-like vehicle with a red cushioned seat and garlands, facing a square open pit with a tiled edge in the foreground. Hanging decorative tassels in red, blue and yellow with rings hang from the roof poles, and a kolam pattern is drawn on the ground.2010-11-06July 08 20122012-07-08A courtyard ritual at an ashram with orange-painted walls and a corrugated roof. A man in orange robes with long swept-back hair and a rudraksha mala sits on a red-cushioned golden throne at right, palms pressed together in prayer. Around him, about a dozen seated devotees in white and cream clothes, several women in yellow-bordered saris, press their palms together before brass plates of flowers and offerings on the floor. A standing figure in white stands in a doorway behind, and a golden throne with a red cushion sits at left beside a tripod camera. Brass lamps and a kalasha-like vessel stand at right. Probable Swamiji cues: long swept-back hair, orange robe and mala on the seated figure at right, who is presiding over the puja.2010-09-13Outdoor ritual photo at a raised stone platform before a deity murti (Ganesha form) adorned with a large garland of yellow and orange flowers, with a fire burning in front and a red-draped altar. Several young priests in orange and red robes sit cross-legged on the platform, some with shaved heads, one in a white turban, while others offer items at the fire. A figure in orange and red robes sits on a red throne with gold trim at the right, facing the ritual, appearing to be the presiding teacher; appearance-based label: a person. Seated devotees in front on colourful striped mats include a man in a white and pink striped shirt, a woman in an orange sari, and people in white and green. Greenery and red-and-white painted walls form the background.2013-09-09July 03 20122012-07-03
