A photograph of a square fire pit built from white-painted bricks set on bare reddish-brown earth. The pit is stepped in tiers, with a sunken central hollow holding small sticks and ash. Two red hibiscus flowers rest on the brick tiers, and a faint dark thread lies across the right edge. No people are visible. The surrounding bricks are whitewashed and arranged in a squared layout typical of a homa or yagna altar being prepared.

A square fire pit (homa kunda) built from stacked yellow-orange clay bricks, decorated with white dots and marks. Inside, the pit holds ash, charred sticks, shredded white and pink flower petals, and scattered offerings including a green fruit. Nearby on the floor are a brass bell, a brass ladle, a small brass lamp with an oil lamp, marigold petals and a patterned orange cloth. The scene suggests a Chandi homa ritual at the ashram. No people are visible.

A photograph of a square stepped brick structure built on bare, reddish-brown earth, resembling a fire pit or altar base. White-painted bricks are stacked in tiers around a shallow rectangular well at the top, with a red hibiscus-type flower placed on the step at the centre and another on a lower step. A brick bears the painted numeral 188. Sparse grass grows at the edges of the ground. No people are visible.

A photograph of a square fire pit built from whitewashed bricks on a tiled floor, with the interior of the pit containing reddish bricks and a few stones. Blue tarpaulin and cut-off white cloth are visible at the edges, and a partial shadow falls across the front of the structure. No people are clearly visible apart from a partially visible figure in white at the right edge and a foot at the lower left. The brickwork appears to be a prepared fire altar, consistent with a homa or yagna setup, though this is not explicitly shown.

Overhead view of a square homa fire pit lined with white-washed brick and dotted with orange kumkum marks. Inside, the pit holds grey ash and partly burnt wooden sticks, with a few green leaves placed around the edge. A brass bowl of pale yellow paste with a ladle sits at the upper right corner, and a small brass lamp with a flame rests at the lower right. No people are visible in the frame.

A square fire pit built from red brick and whitewashed on top, with a fire of split wood burning in its centre and smoke rising. Red and orange flower petals and marigolds are scattered along the brick rim, with yellow turmeric or kumkum-style lines painted on the bricks. Brass bowls and small brass dishes sit on the ground beside the pit, one holding an orange liquid, and a brass vessel stands at the left edge. Dry sticks and palm fronds lie on the ground in the foreground. Bare feet and the lower legs and saris of several people in the background, mostly out of focus, suggest a ritual fire ceremony.

Overhead view of a homa fire pit built into a white-painted square altar. Burning wood and embers glow inside the brick-lined pit. Pink flowers and scattered incense sticks surround the altar edge. Behind it sit brass and copper vessels, a bowl of yellow offerings, a small oil lamp and a red-and-white decorative cloth on the floor. No people are visible.

Close-up photograph of a homa fire pit built from ochre-coloured clay or brick blocks arranged in a square, each block marked with white ash lines and red dots. Inside the pit, a small pile of dry wooden sticks rests on sand, ready for burning. Pink rose petals are scattered over the rim and along the blocks, and a bowl of more petals sits at upper right. Above, a brass vessel and a white powder dish are visible, with a book or cloth in the background. No people are visible in the frame.

A brick fire pit, a homa kunda, built from white-washed bricks and decorated with purple flowers and dried grass stalks along its rim. A brass bowl with a wooden ladle sits on the front ledge, a lit oil lamp stands at the right edge, and a small framed picture of a figure holding a stick sits at the lower left beside a wooden book stand. Brass vessels are arranged on the floor, and a woven mat lies at the right. No people are visible in the scene.

Outdoor homa fire pit built from reddish brick in a square, with a small smoking fire of wood in the centre. The brick rim is dusted with white powder and sprinkled with red and orange flower petals, and a thin string runs around the base. Behind it, a blue table holds brass bowls, a small brass vessel, a bundle of grass and a red cloth, with red cables on the ground. No people are visible in the frame.

Overhead photo of a square homa fire pit built from turmeric-yellow painted bricks and filled with sand. Stacked dry wood sticks sit in the centre, arranged in a pyramid. Pink orchid-like flowers, white chrysanthemums, yellow marigolds and green leaves decorate the brick rims. Small clay oil lamps sit at three corners, and dried grass or straw ties are placed diagonally around the pit. No people are visible; the floor is grey concrete beside a green patterned mat.
