Indoor ritual gathering in a large tented hall with string lights and hanging orange-and-gold festoons. In the centre a bare-chested man in a saffron cloth with a saffron head wrap raises his right arm and points upward, appearing to direct the rite. Beside him a priest in a red and gold silk dhoti and shawl holds a book. Further right a man in white dhoti with an orange sash stands with hands folded, and to the left a bald man in white shirt and dhoti watches. Behind them a crowd of men in white dhotis and saffron shawls stands in rows, some seated in white plastic chairs, with luggage and folded cloth on the floor at right. a person is the saffron-clad man in the centre: the cues are the saffron head wrap, saffron cloth and bare chest, but the face and build are not conclusive, so the caption-based attribution is only probable.2006-12-20A photograph taken indoors at night in a large hall with a plain grey ceiling and hanging orange and decorated banners. A bare-chested man in an orange shawl and orange turban points toward a row of glass display cabinets holding folded red and white cloths and ceremonial items. Beside him a man in a red garment holds a book, and a man in white dhoti and shirt with an orange shawl lifts an object toward the cabinet. Several men in white dhotis stand nearby, and a man in a checked shirt watches from the left. Bags and red and pink bundles lie on the floor near a yellow line.2006-12-20October 15 20092009-10-15A dim temple hall with a dark stone floor.
