A street scene in a small Tamil town with a rocky, tree-covered hill rising behind rows of multi-storey buildings. Several people in white clothing walk down the road; a central figure wears a long orange-and-cream shawl over white attire, with another in an orange wrap nearby. Yellow auto-rickshaw on the left, parked motorcycles on the right, shop signs in Tamil script, and a utility truck further back.

A street procession moves along a paved road lined with pedestrians, under a hillside of rocky green slopes and houses. Many marchers in white dhotis and white shirts carry orange and white flags and banners, some reading as saffron flags with emblems. Bunting of white triangular flags strings across the street. A decorated float or palanquin-style vehicle in red and gold appears near the centre of the procession. Motorcycles and a yellow auto-rickshaw travel alongside, and onlookers stand on the pavement, including children. A large yellow billboard with a circular emblem stands on the right. The image is a photograph of a ratha or chariot-style procession with devotees.

A busy street in a town at the foot of a rocky hill. Yellow auto-rickshaws and motorcycles travel along the road, and a man on a bicycle rides past a parked white car. A woman in white clothing walks on the pavement beside shops and multi-storey buildings with balconies. Signs for ICICI Bank, Reliance and a KOS lodge line the street, and a yellow truck is parked at the right edge beside a shop with a pink facade. Overhead power lines cross the scene under an overcast sky.

A busy street in a South Indian town leading toward a large gopuram temple tower set against a hill. Two men walk on the road, one in a white shirt and dark trousers, another in a white shirt and white dhoti. Several women in dark saris walk down the middle of the street, and motorcycles and a cow are visible. On the right stands a small colourful roadside shrine with deity figures on a pale blue and gold roof. Shop signs and hoardings line both sides, including a sign with Tamil text and a banner with an image of men in white.

A long line of devotees walks along a town street in a procession, most men in white dhotis and shirts and women in white saris, many wearing orange shawls or sashes. Several people in the front carry a bundled white cloth or item on their heads. Behind them a yellow auto-rickshaw and motorbikes wait at the roadside, while a man on a bicycle pulls a large cylindrical drum or cask wrapped in rope on the left. Shops, a white multi-storey building with a bank sign, and a hill with a rocky ridge line the background.

A street view of a busy Tamil town leading to a richly painted gopuram, the tiered temple tower of Madurai's Meenakshi-Sundareshwara complex, its tiers covered in colourful sculpted deities in red, blue, yellow and green. Behind it rises a large rocky hill with a small shrine on top. Pedestrians walk along the road, including a man in a white dhoti and shirt and a few people in white and pale clothing. A yellow three-wheeled auto-rickshaw with a passenger in white sits in the foreground, and a man in a white dhoti stands near it. Shops line both sides, with motorcycles, parked cars and bicycles on the road, and a stall displays colourful toys and garlands.

Outdoor street procession in bright daylight with a dry, rocky hill behind. In the foreground, several women in white saris and a young woman in a red top with a rudraksha-style bead necklace walk among a crowd of mostly white-clad men and women. On the right, a group of monks in saffron and orange robes walks beside a flower-decorated float or palanquin draped with pink and yellow garlands. A large temple gopuram rises in the background. A red-and-white bus and a crowd of onlookers, some standing on a loaded vehicle, line the route. Many people are visible, though not all are fully shown.
