Photograph inside a temple shrine hall. At center, a gilded throne with a tiger-skin cushion holds a framed portrait of a smiling man wearing an orange turban; a gold canopy hangs above with bells on chains. Flanking the throne are colourful painted deity statues with yellow marigold garlands, one holding a mace and a lotus-shaped object. In the foreground, shaved-headed saffron-robed priests stand with folded hands; one swings a lit camphor or aarti lamp. The portrait is a depiction, not a person present in the scene, and the photo shows ritual veneration before it, consistent with padukapuja or aarti.2013-12-26A ceremonial puja inside a temple hall with a golden ornate throne at centre. A seated man in reddish-brown robes and a pink-and-white flower garland sits on the throne, which is draped with leopard and tiger skins, while a golden bell-hung structure rises above. A priest with his back to the camera, wearing an orange turban and orange shawl, holds up a lit oil lamp toward him. Three women sit in the foreground, one with a long braid in a red top, one in green, and one in a dark top. Two large painted deity statues in orange and gold flank the scene. The seated figure appears to be a candidate for a person, based on the seat and garland, but facial and dress cues are not distinctive enough for certainty.2017-08-09 +1 copiesJanuary 01 20082008-01-01Interior of a temple sanctum with painted blue and pink columns.
