A standing figure in saffron-orange robes and a white-and-brown cylindrical head wrap faces a dark grey stone sculpture of a multi-armed deity inside a circular arch, holding a lit oil lamp toward the murti. A plastic chair, a small table with items, and a bucket sit nearby; the ground is bare dirt. The figure's face is not visible, and the scene reads as a lamp offering at a murti.2011-10-30Evening photo at an outdoor shrine. A priest in an orange-saffron dhoti-style garment, with a long gold-and-red-bead necklace, a rudraksha-style garland of red and yellow flowers, and white tilak on the forehead, holds a lit oil lamp flame in one hand over a brass plate. A large black stone deity murti with a crown-like headdress, trident, and white-and-red draped cloth stands in an arched frame, decorated with red and yellow marigold garlands and a rudraksha mala. A camera operator is visible at the right edge, with a dark iron fence behind. The priest's clothing and ornaments are saffron and gold; the visible face and head cues are limited.2013-03-02Evening puja at an outdoor shrine. A man in saffron-orange robes with a leopard-print shawl, red and yellow flower garlands, rudraksha beads and a white-and-red forehead marking holds a lit oil lamp flame toward a large dark stone deity murti with a trident, a seated bull and a circular halo carved behind it. The murti wears a white and red sari-style drape, bead necklaces and red-yellow garlands. A small oil lamp burns on the floor and a brick wall is behind.2013-03-02A priest in saffron-orange ceremonial dress and an ornate blue-and-white embroidered conical crown stands with his back to the camera, holding a small metal lamp with a flame in his right hand while facing a large grey stone murti of a multi-armed deity. The stone figure stands within a carved circular halo, holding a long staff or trident-like weapon and other implements, with a decorated pedestal. Behind them is a tiled room with a window, a ceiling fan, a refrigerator and a water canister. The scene suggests aarti performed before a deity murti.2011-10-31Night outdoor ritual photograph. A shaved-headed man in an orange saffron robe and a gold-toned necklace raises a lit oil lamp (aarti) toward a large carved grey stone relief of a deity beside a stone base with flowers and a brass plate. Behind him, white-clad men and women stand in a procession, a drummer in white beats a barrel drum at right, and a lit canopy or ratha-like structure with orange and gold decorations glows in the background. Smoke rises from the flame against the dark sky.2010-11-20February 21 20162016-02-21Night photograph of an outdoor shrine with a group of grey stone deity murtis standing on a raised stone plinth in front of an orange-red boundary wall and a dark tree. A man in an orange saffron dhoti and shawl, bare-chested, holds up a lit oil lamp in his right hand while a small brass vessel is in his left, performing aarti toward the murtis. A partially visible person in a striped garment stands at the right edge.2011-12-17
