Outdoor photograph at a groundbreaking ceremony under a yellow umbrella with multicoloured fringe. A man in an orange saffron wrap and orange turban, with long swept-back hair, rudraksha mala beads and a gold-toned pendant, smiles and reaches toward a woollen-patterned basket decorated with white jasmine garlands, yellow marigolds and pink flowers, with a metal plate of offerings and green leaves. Facing him, a bare-chested man with a rudraksha mala and a white cloth around his waist receives the offering. Behind them, men in white shirts and white dhotis, some wearing gold-toned pendant necklaces, stand on dry ground with palm trees and bushes in the distance. This fits the Kanchipuram bhoomi pooja (earth worship) described on the page.
