A street procession in an Indian town, with a flower-decorated float or palanquin visible in the background behind the marchers. In the foreground, several men in saffron and orange sannyasi-style cloth walk together, some bare-shouldered with orange wraps. The man at right-centre has long dark swept-back hair, a dark tilak mark, and a gold ornamental necklace with a pendant over an orange garment, which is a distinctive cue, but his face and identity are not established here, so the figure is described by role as a sannyasi in procession. Behind them, men in white shirts and white dhotis walk among devotees along a street lined with multi-storey shops and signboards. Garlands and flower petals are visible.2005-11-14November 14 20052005-11-14November 14 20052005-11-14November 14 20052005-11-14Street photograph of a procession on a busy Indian town road lined with shops and multi-storey buildings. In the centre, a young man in saffron-orange robes and an orange turban wears a white and multicoloured flower garland and a rudraksha mala, walking barefoot and smiling. Around him, men in white dhotis and shirts, several with orange shawls or sashes and orange lanyards, walk close together. Motorcycles and vehicles are parked behind them. A bald man in white stands at the lower left, and a bearded man in glasses and white clothes is at the right. The orange-robed figure may be the a person, with cues of saffron robes, ornate garland and mala, but identity is uncertain from appearance.2003-12-19September 11 20122012-09-11A group of men walks barefoot along a dirt lane beside an old stone temple wall in a South Indian village. In the centre a man wears an orange turban, an orange and gold-bordered shawl over a saffron garment, a heavy gold necklace of beads, and has long swept-back hair; his palms are joined in greeting. Around him devotees in white dhotis and white shirts, several with white and red forehead markings, stand close, and a man beside him wears a white shirt and dhoti. Behind them are a banana plant with large green leaves, market stalls with blue tarpaulins and signboards, and a temple gopuram with painted deity figures. The person in orange shows distinctive saffron clothing and long hair with a gold necklace, consistent with the appearance-based Swamiji (probable) cues.2006-09-24January 21 20092009-01-21June 23 20142014-06-23 +2 copiesJune 05 20122012-06-05
