A photograph of a homa fire ritual at night. A bare-chested priest with white sacred marks on his arms and chest, a rust-orange turban and a long rudraksha mala with gold ornaments sits on a silver chair. He holds a long ladle over a fire built on a stack of yellow bricks, decorated with grass and white grains. A brass bowl sits in front of the fire, with brass pots and a plate of flowers on a striped cloth. Behind him stand a stone pillar and a dark red mat. The priest appears to be a devotee-level performer; no identity is asserted from appearance.

Night outdoor homa at a ritual fire pit built of stacked yellow-coated bricks, with a bright flame rising from the centre and a flower-decorated altar on the front. A seated man in orange and saffron clothing, with a large orange turban, rudraksha malas, bead bracelets and a white-and-orange shawl, holds a silver plate of white grains in one hand while raising the other in a blessing gesture. Behind him a silver ornate throne holds a deity murti draped in red and pink flower garlands. Brass lamps, a silver kettle and a small kalasha sit on the rugs, and a building with lit windows shows in the background.

A man in orange-red robes sits cross-legged on a striped rug before a yellow-brick fire pit, pouring an offering with a long ladle into bright flames at night. He wears a red and orange turban, a long rudraksha mala with multiple strands, a silver pendant, and wristbands; white horizontal markings are painted on his bare upper arm and chest. Brass bowls, a covered vessel, pink flowers, and a silver lamp sit on the rug. A silver-backed chair and a dark red cushioned mat sit behind him. The scene appears to be a homa or fire offering.

Night outdoor ritual on a striped woven mat. A priest in orange robes and an orange turban sits cross-legged, pouring from a ladle over a tiered yellow altar with offerings. Nearby, a silver-framed deity murti or portrait is garlanded with yellow marigolds and red flowers, with brass oil lamps, kalasha pots, brass plates of flowers, and a white cloth on a tray. The priest appears to be a sannyasi performing puja; no identity is confirmed from appearance.

Flames rise from the square brick pit on the right, decorated with yellow flower petals and a small offering bowl. Brass oil lamps and small pots sit on the floor, with string lights and a shelf of framed items behind. Partially visible white-clad figure at the left edge.

Night-time fire ritual (homa) on a patterned mat outdoors. Two men in orange and saffron clothing sit before a yellow brick fire pit with a bright flame. The man on the right wears an orange turban, rudraksha malas, white body markings and orange cloth, and pours an offering from a ladle into a bowl. The man in the centre, in an orange turban and white-striped body paint, sits with hands together. To the left a decorated deity murti or kalasha-like figure is garlanded with yellow and red flowers and banana leaves, with fruit, bananas and brass vessels arranged around. Brass lamps, a metal tray with rice and kumkum bowls complete the offering setup. Dim figures sit in the background.

Night-time outdoor homa on a striped cloth in an open courtyard. Two sannyasis sit before a fire pit built of stacked yellow-coated bricks. The seated man at right, bare-chested with white ash markings, rust-red dhoti, orange turban and a rudraksha mala, pours liquid from a long ladle into the flames. Beside him sits a second sannyasi in an orange turban and orange cloth with a white-striped body. Behind them stands a silver ornate peetha draped with a deity murti or sacred item, garlanded with red, yellow and orange flowers and leaves. Brass oil lamps, a kalasha pot, steel plates of fruit, bananas, flowers and rice, and small cups surround the offerings. Petals are scattered on the cloth, and a few other people stand in the background.

Night outdoor fire ritual. A man in orange clothing sits beside a brick fire pit with a bright flame, holding a shallow silver plate of white grains or puffed rice in his left hand while his right arm reaches toward the fire with a brass bowl. He wears an orange turban, a saffron shawl over bare shoulders, multiple rudraksha malas, a long beaded necklace, and beaded bracelets on both arms. A brass oil lamp stands at left, and marigold flowers and leaves rest on the brick edge. Dark buildings and lights glow in the background. Visible concern: a homa or yagna offering.
