At the centre stands a dark stone statue of a robed figure wearing an orange-saffron cloth and a garland of yellow and red flowers, set within an ornate white arched frame. The statue rests on a mound of bright orange-red powder with a black-and-white dotted border. Five men stand on the paved ground in front of it: on the left a man in white with hands joined in namaskar, then men in pink, red, white and grey shirts and trousers. The statue is a murti, not a living person, so a person is set to depiction only if a probable candidate were visible, which it is not here; the figure is a statue rendered in saffron cloth with garlands, not an identifiable living person.2010-11-03Outdoor photograph beneath a large banyan tree with hanging aerial roots.
