March 24 20082008-03-24March 24 20082008-03-24A photograph of a temple shrine at night showing two gilded metal deity murtis seated side by side, one male with an ornate crown, multi-strand jewelled necklaces and a red-orange turban, the other female with a crown and green-gold garment. Both are draped with garlands of yellow, white and red flowers. A smaller seated figure in orange wrapper and gold ornaments sits in front on a white and red-striped cloth. On the left, a man in an orange saffron robe, his bare arm outstretched, holds a lit oil lamp toward the murtis in an aarti. Grey carved stone pillars and red velvet drapes frame the scene. Only the man in orange is a physical person.2007-12-23A temple shrine with a large gilded arch framing a pair of painted deity murtis, one male with an orange turban and many beaded necklaces and one female in a pink and magenta sari, flanked by a golden bull (Nandi) figure. In front, a man in orange-saffron robes bends over a dark shivalinga set in a silver yoni-peetha basin, pouring liquid as in abhishekam. A second person in orange robes stands at left beside the bull, and green draped cloth, marigold and white flower garlands, and a brass lamp frame the scene. A small white statue in pink with a garland sits at right.2008-12-31December 31 20082008-12-31A devotee in an orange sannyasi-style robe stands at left, holding a brass aarti lamp or offering vessel toward a shrine. Inside a stone pavilion with a gold-framed arch, two large deity murtis are dressed in gold and draped in layered garlands of yellow, red, white and green flowers. The seated figure wears a gold saree and gold jewellery, while the standing figure wears an orange turban and a pearl necklace. Brass oil lamps stand on both sides, and a small statue in orange with white flower garlands sits in front of the central pedestal. A white cloth and offerings rest on the pedestal, with trees behind the pavilion.2008-03-22A photograph of a temple shrine with a bare-chested priest in an orange dhoti and shawl standing at left, raising a lit brass oil lamp toward a pair of deity murtis seated on a raised platform. The murtis wear orange and pink silk, are decorated with garlands of yellow, red, green and white flowers and gold-framed arch behind them, and a small gold crown and throne sit at right. Brass lamps, a kalasha-like pot and a plant offering are arranged in the foreground, with red curtains and carved stone pillars around the shrine. This shows a puja or aarti being performed before the deity murtis. No person's identity is established by appearance; the priest is described by role only.2008-03-24December 24 20082008-12-24A photograph of a shrine inside an open pavilion with carved stone pillars. A woman in an orange sannyasi-style robe with long dark hair stands at left, holding a small lamp or bell near the shrine. The shrine is decorated with multicoloured flower garlands forming an arch. At the top stands a pair of deity murtis, one with an orange turban and crown and a jewelled necklace, the other in a gold and cream sari with a pink underskirt. Below them sits a white deity murti with orange and red cloth, rudraksha-style beads and a garland. Brass oil lamps, a brass plate with offerings, a red cloth backdrop and a small ornate silver-toned throne with garlands appear in the foreground.2008-03-22December 31 20082008-12-31March 02 20112011-03-02 +1 copiesJanuary 01 20082008-01-01
