A central figure with a bare upper body, a long yellow shawl and a rudraksha mala stands with palms joined in namaskar, while a bearded man in an orange-brown robe with a white garland and a rudraksha-style necklace stands beside him, hands joined. Several men in white dhotis and yellow garments stand nearby, one carrying a tray. In the foreground a richly decorated altar with dense garlands of white, yellow, pink and red flowers stands beside a brass lamp and steel vessels. Green and gold canopy hangs above, and pink petals fall through the air. The scene suggests a puja or inauguration rite.2018-04-14 +1 copiesMay 03 20142014-05-03Overhead photograph of a darshan scene on a red carpeted dais. A seated figure in the centre sits on an ornate gold throne with lion-head armrests, wearing an orange-saffron cloth wrap, a red sash, and a multicolour flower garland, with an orange head wrap. Behind the throne a painted backdrop and gold umbrella hang over the seat, and two more gold carved thrones flank it. Around the throne, many people in white, red and orange clothing crowd close, some holding trays of fruit or offerings and some with bare upper bodies and ash marks on the forehead. A camera on a tripod stands at the left edge, and a white fan sits at the lower right.2016-04-30July 19 20162016-07-19Outdoor evening gathering under floodlights, with a crowd of devotees behind a barrier. A seated figure on a gold-and-red throne (peetha) with a cushion is surrounded by yellow and orange marigold garlands and red flowers. He wears a white turban, a leopard-print shawl over a white garment, and a long garland, and is smiling broadly. Devotees in white kurtas and an orange-clad man with a shawl stand close, and a person in white kneels and bows near the throne. A tray of coins, nuts and a coconut sits on the dais. A man in white with a rudraksha mala stands at left. The seated figure matches the page's Swamiji candidate by visible cues: turban, long swept-back hair and ornate garland, with clothing and adornment consistent with the cues, so he is labelled Swamiji (probable) and marked in_person.2010-12-29A central figure seated on an ornate floral throne decorated with flower garlands in red, white, yellow and purple, with a gold ornament above. The seated man has a bare chest, a gold and beaded necklace, a rudraksha-style mala with green and red threads, and a white forehead mark. Around him, people in orange and saffron cloth stand and kneel, including a man in an orange turban and an orange-wrapped figure in front, plus women in white saris and gold jewellery. A golden lion-faced murti or ornament sits at left. Crowd members appear in the foreground and background, many in white. The scene reads as a temple or ashram ceremony with devotees gathered around the throne.2017-07-09A seated bearded man in saffron-orange robes and a rudraksha mala with a white flower garland sits on a white ornate throne with red cushion before a golden canopy and a deity murti of a crowned, multi-armed figure beside a consort. Behind a brass trident stand brass lamps and potted green plants. To his left sit young boys in white, and a man with long hair, rudraksha beads, tilak and white dhoti. Red and striped floor cloth lies below; a fan is at left.2017-02-18A seated woman with long dark hair wears a red and black garment with a red shawl, sitting on an ornate gold throne with a red cushion. Behind her stands a golden arched shrine holding deity murtis draped in garlands of yellow and white flowers. Around the throne, seated devotees in white dhotis and white clothes wear red and orange shawls and hold brass plates and offerings; one person holds a flower-filled plate. Flower arrangements of yellow and purple blooms sit at the left, and a brass kalasha stands nearby. The scene appears to be a paada pooja or darshan setting.2014-12-30
