A man with long dark hair, wearing a deep saffron-red robe and a heavy multi-strand necklace of gold-toned beads, stands at centre with a white cloth wrap over his shoulder and white sacred ash across his forehead with a red bindi. He places his right hand on the head of a young man in a white t-shirt who bows with hands folded near his chin, and the man holds a folded white paper in his other hand. Behind them a crowd of devotees stands along a metal barrier, and a colourful decorated shrine with lit oil lamps and floral offerings glows in the background, with saffron and orange hangings at the top. A bare-shouldered man in orange cloth is partly visible at the right edge.2013-03-13A man in a long-sleeved white kurta with a saffron cloth around his neck, glasses on, hands pressed together in namaste, bows his head while a figure in ochre-orange robes places a hand on his crown. The blessing figure has long dark hair swept back, wears a tilak, a small gold earring, layered rudraksha-style beads and a heavy ceremonial gold bead necklace with a crystal mala, and holds a sheet of paper in the other hand. Behind them a second robed figure in ochre stands near a maroon curtain and a yellow banner, with a few other people at the edge of the frame. The blessing figure has distinctive long swept-back hair, ochre robes and ornate gold necklaces, consistent with the Swamiji (probable) candidate; the kneeling man is a devotee receiving blessing.2013-05-04A photograph of a ritual blessing.
