A large outdoor evening procession moves along a dusty dirt road toward the horizon under a hazy, late-afternoon sky. A decorated palanquin or ratha, draped in garlands and bright fabrics with a small orange canopy on top, is carried by men in white dhotis and white kurtas with yellow shoulder cloths. Behind it, devotees in white and yellow walk alongside, and women in white and blue saris are visible. A tall ornate parasol with blue, yellow and red panels and a bird emblem shelters the front of the procession, and a long ceremonial staff is carried by a woman in a blue sari at left. Saffron-robed sannyasis walk among the crowd. Water tanks and palm trees sit in the background.2010-02-12November 24 20062006-11-24An outdoor evening procession on a dusty ground under a pale sky, with hills and unfinished buildings behind.
