Annadhan in 2008

A photograph inside a hall with white walls and red curtains. A man in orange robes bends forward, pouring liquid from a steel vessel into a large steel bowl of rice held by a seated woman in orange sari with rudraksha mala. Another saffron-clad man sits beside her. Standing in white clothes behind them, several men watch. A portrait of a smiling woman in orange hangs on the wall, decorated with a yellow flower garland. Brass lamps, flower offerings, a plate of green chillies and a pile of banana leaves sit on the floor near a green leaf on a white cloth. Water bottles and a steel flask rest nearby.

A photograph of a ritual scene in an indoor hall with a cream tiled floor and orange cloth mats. In the foreground a woman in an orange sari sits cross-legged, scooping yellow rice from a steel bowl, while a man in white dhoti and shirt bends forward to offer food to a woman in orange sari beside him. Other people in white and orange saris and dhotis stand or sit around the room. A microphone stand, steel vessels, a water bottle and a framed portrait of a saffron-robed figure on a backdrop are visible. Scattered mats and cushions suggest a satsang or annadan gathering.

In the foreground, a man with long dark hair, a headband and a white flower garland sits on a striped red-and-blue mat, wearing an orange-red sleeveless top and orange cloth, and serves food onto a green banana leaf. Beside him, a woman in a white outfit with an orange shawl kneels with cupped hands. Behind them, a line of people in white clothes with orange shawls and gold borders stand holding leaf plates of food, with a steel tray of rice in the lower corner. Striped hangings and a seated audience appear in the background.

A hall with white walls and framed photo panels labelled Sannyas and Nithyananda ashram events. Women in orange-saffron saris and rudraksha malas stand and move around, while a row of women seated on mats eat from banana-leaf plates set with small steel cups and bowls. Several seated women wear dark maroon-brown garments and have white ash markings. A woman in a white-haired orange sari stands near the centre, and women in purple and yellow saris appear in the background. The scene looks like an ashram meal service.

Indoor annadhan (food offering) scene in a plain white-walled hall with a red and yellow canopy and a hanging decorated cloth. A seated person in orange-red robes with a rudraksha-style mala serves food from a large steel dish with a spoon, a pile of cooked grain on a green leaf before them. Several seated people in white clothes sit on mats to the left, with steel cooking pots and vessels in front. A standing bearded man in orange robes stands in the background near a red curtain. A water bottle, flower garlands and banana leaves sit on the floor, and a dark board with a gold-lettered sign is visible on a stage at right.
