July 10 20092009-07-10Indoor event hall with a large banner showing a smiling man in a white turban and white robes, with Tamil text beside him. A framed portrait on a draped table, decorated with yellow cloth and a flower garland, shows a similarly turbaned figure. In front of the stage, a line of men in white shirts and white headbands stand on a red carpet. A lone figure in orange robes stands near a rainbow-coloured backdrop at the far end of the hall. Air conditioners and a white tent ceiling are visible. The portrait and banner are depictions, not physically present candidates, and the orange-robed figure is too distant for reliable identification.2006-12-15A large crowd of mostly men in white shirts and dhotis walks through a street during a procession, many with hands raised or pressed together. Held aloft in the foreground is a peach-coloured banner with a blue leaf emblem and Tamil lettering, carried above the crowd. At the right edge, a man in a saffron-orange robe and matching orange turban, with long dark hair and folded hands, stands beside a tall decorated pole topped with green leaves and coconuts. Some people wear yellow and white garments, and bunting flags strung overhead mark the route. Buildings and a green tree line the street behind.2006-09-24Night scene at a thatched-roof open shelter decorated with garlands and strings of flower and leaf festoons. A large framed poster hangs from the roof frame, showing a smiling man with a red-orange turban, a saffron-orange garment and beaded necklaces, labelled with a printed Tamil caption and the word Dhyanapeetham at the top. Around the shelter, a group of men in white shirts and white dhotis stand together; one bare-chested elderly man in a pink dhoti holds an object in his hand, and another man in a checked shirt and orange cloth holds a silver vessel. A man in orange-red clothing stands at the right edge. Darkness surrounds the shelter with trees behind it.2006-09-24December 15 20062006-12-15January 08 20122012-01-08Outdoor photograph at a roadside street event under a large tree. A tall signboard in blue with white and orange lettering is being unveiled, its white cloth partly drawn back to reveal a framed image at the top. A garland of white flowers hangs along the board's lower edge, and pink flower garlands decorate the frame. A man in white dhoti and shirt and an older man in white ritual clothing with a shawl, holding a small brass object, stand near a flagpole. A man in an orange shirt stands at center smiling. Other men in white shirts and a woman in a patterned dress look on, and a woman in a dark blouse and gold earrings stands at lower left. A yellow rope or cord runs from the flagpole toward the crowd. Nearby stand a red and white shop sign for Kumar Rice Mill and a small table with flowers.2009-08-03A photograph of an outdoor devotional offering at dusk beneath a canopy of banana leaves and strung blue-and-white pennants. In the foreground a man with his back to the camera wears an orange turban and orange shawl with a white and pink floral garland, hands pressed in namaste, holding a tray of petals. Beside him a man in a white shirt holds up a flaming brass aarti lamp on a tall stand. Around them, devotees in white shirts and dhotis stand with palms joined. On the right, a framed photograph of a smiling woman in a white and gold sari, garlanded with flowers, is placed on a white-draped table scattered with petals, with text on the frame reading Om Hreem Nithyanandaya Namaha. Several onlookers crowd the background.2007-01-12Outdoor photo of a large crowd seated and standing before a row of coconut palms under a blue sky with clouds. Most men wear white shirts and white dhotis, while women wear sarees in turquoise, red, purple and yellow. Some men wear rudraksha malas and one bald elderly man sits at the lower right. A blue banner on a pole reads Dhyanapeetam and shows a portrait of a figure in a white turban and ochre-toned robe, which is a depiction on a banner rather than a physical person. No candidate for a person is physically visible among the people present, so the figure on the banner is treated as a depiction with uncertain identity.2006-11-13A dusty outdoor ground under a large blue tarpaulin canopy with striped festoon borders. Several men in white shirts and white dhotis dance energetically with raised arms, while a crowd of onlookers, including women in red and pink saris and children, watches and claps. A tall yellow banner is held aloft by a man, showing a large portrait of a smiling man with an orange-saffron turban and orange robe, with Tamil text printed below.2010-12-29Evening photo at an indoor satsang stage with a blue-lit ceiling and white walls. A large framed portrait of a smiling man in a yellow turban and red tilak, garlanded with yellow and orange flowers and set against a starry blue backdrop with planet-like circles, is displayed on an easel-style stand with gold finials and a yellow draped cloth. Around it, roughly a dozen men in white dhotis and white shirts stand, sit and gesture, several wearing rudraksha-style beaded necklaces, while a man in white sits cross-legged on the blue stage carpet in the foreground. Orange drapery and flower arrangements frame the right side.2006-12-17A stage at a person Spurana program with a large backdrop portrait of a smiling young man wearing a white turban with a gold-and-saffron band and a red tilak, one hand raised in a gesture of blessing. Below it, a man in saffron robes stands with palms joined in namaste near a white-draped chair and microphone on a blue-and-red stage. A large audience in white and pastel clothing stands with hands folded in front of the stage, while women in white saris and a woman in a red sari stand at the right side. The backdrop reads Nithyananda Spurana Dhyanapeetham in Tamil, with a smaller framed portrait of the same turbaned figure at left.2006-12-14
