Outdoor crowd scene in a village street with palm trees, a parked white van, a green bus and a red-roofed building behind. A large crowd of devotees, mostly women in colourful saris and men in white shirts and dhotis, gathers closely around a central figure. That central man has short dark hair and wears a white garment with an orange shawl draped over his shoulder. Several women wear rosette badges on their chests and some carry small items. Plastic chairs are arranged in rows at left, and a wooden framework stands at the right edge. The atmosphere is one of a procession or ratha yatra gathering with people pressing forward to see the central figure.2006-10-28A large crowd of villagers sits and stands under a thatched palm-leaf pandal roof supported by bamboo poles during an outdoor gathering. Many women wear saris in pink, orange, magenta, and purple, with marigold garlands woven into their hair, and several children appear in front. Men wear white shirts and white dhotis or lungis. A seated man in a white shirt sits on a blue plastic chair near green leaves, and a standing man in a white shirt gestures among the crowd. A colourful striped cloth hangs from a pole at the right edge. The setting appears to be a rural community event with many attendees.2008-07-28July 26 20152015-07-26A large outdoor gathering under a makeshift thatched canopy supported by bamboo poles, with many women seated on white plastic chairs. Most wear cotton and silk saris in pastel, yellow, purple, maroon and red tones, and several have red kumkum bindis on their foreheads. Men in white shirts and dhotis stand behind them, one holding a white umbrella, and a blue vehicle is parked at the right edge beside green trees. The crowd appears to be watching a program.2006-10-28Outdoor communal meal at dusk under palm trees, with a large crowd seated on the ground in rows eating from leaf plates on the sand. Women in saffron, red, green, yellow and blue saris and men in white shirts and dhotis sit close together. Decorative umbrellas and strings of bunting hang overhead, and a few people stand and walk between the rows serving food. Banners line the back of the scene. No single a person candidate is clearly identifiable, so this reads as an annadan style feeding gathering.2007-02-11July 16 20062006-07-16A photograph of a large crowd seated on the ground under a corrugated metal shelter with open sides and steel roof frames. Most people sit cross-legged in white shirts and dhotis or pale clothing, with some women in saris of orange, red and pink. A man standing at left wears a white dhoti and shirt with a yellow shawl draped over his shoulder. Behind them hangs a large white banner printed with a portrait of a woman with short dark hair and a caption in Telugu script. Rubble, stones and bare earth lie in the foreground, with green shrubs, a parked car and a truck visible beyond the shelter.May 22 20172017-05-22A seated outdoor audience at a community gathering, rows of green folding chairs on a dirt ground. Many villagers sit facing forward: older men in white shirts and dhotis, women in blue, teal and orange saris, a girl in a green dress with orange sashes, and young boys in striped and pink shirts. No speaker or a person candidate is visible in the frame; the people are viewed from behind the seats and to the side. Background shows more chairs and a few standing figures under a canopy.2007-04-01November 24 20062006-11-24October 28 20062006-10-28A large outdoor congregation of devotees seated on white plastic chairs under a white tent canopy, facing forward with hands pressed in anjali mudra. Most are women in sarees of white, yellow, green, red and orange, with some men in white dhotis and a boy in a yellow-and-black shirt in the foreground. Many wear garlands and necklaces. Black speakers and a blue-and-white draped barrier stand at the sides, and a crowd fills the tent extending into the distance. The gathering is a satsang-style public event.2009-01-01
