November 05 20062006-11-05A night-time photograph of a bright fire flaring upward from a vessel held by a man in white clothes at left, his palms pressed together in prayer. Beside him a woman in a cream sari with a red-bordered edge stands with hands folded, and other devotees, some partly in shadow, gather closely around the flame. At right, a man in an orange-yellow shirt with a light forehead mark watches the fire.
