Each wears orange-brown dhotis with gold borders, rudraksha mala necklaces and white urdhva pundra marks on forehead and arms. Brass kalashas, bell-shaped pots and silver vessels with offerings line the floor in front of them. The men are shaven-headed priests or disciples; no individual is identified.2013-09-30Photo 11736490January 23 20132013-01-23A group of young shaved-headed ascetics in saffron-orange dhotis and wraps, with rudraksha malas and white tripundra markings on their foreheads, sit on a white floor mat performing a seated ritual. Several hold brass lamps or ritual implements over small plates of fruit and sweets on low wooden stands. Behind them, men in white dhotis and shirts, some wearing red shawls, sit with hands folded in prayer. The setting looks like a hall with a tiled floor and a blue cloth strip on the floor.2013-11-18September 30 20132013-09-30April 09 20142014-04-09September 27 20132013-09-27July 20 20132013-07-20Photograph of a seated group of shaven-headed men in orange-red robes and white forehead markings performing a ritual indoors. The foreground man, bare-chested with an orange-and-gold shawl across his shoulder, holds a small brass oil lamp in one hand and a brass bell in the other. Rudraksha malas hang on several men behind him, and white ash stripes mark their arms and chests. Small brass oil lamps and offerings sit on a cloth at lower left, with a water bottle nearby. Warm pinkish walls and gold pillars frame the hall. No clearly identifiable throne or a person cues are visible in the foreground, so the central figure is a priest-like participant rather than a confirmed a person.2017-02-10November 23 20132013-11-23
