A man in a white shirt with an orange cloth draped over his shoulder and carrying a notebook stands at the centre. Other people, including a woman in a green sari with an orange border seated at right, are seated on striped mats. A photograph of a row of seated women and young women eating a meal from banana leaves on a concrete floor under an open thatched pavilion. Most wear white saris with gold borders and orange shawls or stoles, some with orange-and-white attire. Each has a banana leaf with rice, vegetables, papad and sweets, with small brass pots, steel cups and a brass vessel beside them. Several are eating with their right hands; one at left touches rice on her leaf. Bamboo poles stand among them and other people in white stand in the background. No a person candidate is visible.

A photograph inside an open-sided pavilion with a corrugated roof, where a puja is taking place on a bare concrete floor. Several rows of people sit cross-legged in white clothes with orange shawls. A man in a white kurta and a bare-chested figure with white dhoti kneel near the center, bowed toward the floor, with brass vessels and banana leaves in front of them. Two women in white and orange sit at right with hands joined. Large framed portraits hang on the back walls, and a cameraman in white stands at left. Orange flags on bamboo poles rise from the floor. Relevant cues are a bowing devotee, offerings on leaves, and the ritual setting.
