The woman at the front left wears a white sari, the woman in yellow with a long braid wears a bright yellow sari with an orange blouse, and the woman at the right wears a white sari with a gold border. A large crowd of women in white saris and white outfits stands and watches along the edges. Behind them are a whitewashed building with a tin roof, banana plants, strings of white and green streamers, a red and gold banner on a pole at the right, and a white banner with printed text at the left.2007-12-30A photograph of an outdoor gathering on a dirt ground beside a whitewashed wall, with palm trees and a red-roofed building behind. A line of devotees stands with hands folded in anjali or gazing upward. Foreground women wear white or cream sarees with orange or saffron shawls; one in front wears an orange-red saree and another a yellow shawl over white. A bald man in white ritual dress stands at left, and a man in white kurta stands at far left. Saffron flags on poles frame the scene. Several dozen people are visible, including partially visible figures at the edges.2010-10-18 +1 copiesA woman in a white sari with a thin yellow border bends forward over dry leaves scattered on bare red earth beneath a tree, lighting or tending a small smoke wisp at ground level. Another woman in a cream sari with orange and yellow floral print and an orange blouse stands beside her, watching. Bare branches and dry leaves surround them in a rural outdoor setting.2007-02-16Outdoor photo on a sandy path beside palm trees and orange marigolds. Nine women in white saris with gold borders stand in a line, most wearing orange or yellow shawls over their shoulders and beaded necklaces. Several have bare feet. Behind them is a tall copper-coloured pillar with garlands, a white painted base, and a dark stone deity murti on the left. A small wooden fence and a red-doored hut stand at right. Some women smile or look toward the left side of the frame.2009-10-15A photograph of an outdoor ritual gathering beneath a large banyan tree. Several women in saffron-orange and red saris, some with rudraksha malas and forehead markings, gather around a white bucket of reddish liquid set in red-brown earth. One woman in a red and gold sari and another in an orange sari lean over the bucket, while others bend nearby. A woman in a teal blouse and blue wrap stands with a mala. A woman in white stands at left and men in white and green clothing appear in the background. The scene appears to be a group ceremonial activity such as a puja or offering.2016-09-11
