July 28 20082008-07-28July 28 20082008-07-28Photograph of a doorway with orange-painted walls and a wooden frame, decorated with a hanging garland of green beans and a strand of multicoloured threads. A uniformed police officer in khaki with a red-banded cap and spectacles stands at left. A man in a white shirt with a red-and-black patterned cloth and a bindi-marked forehead stands in the centre, and a bald man in an orange robe with a long gold-beaded necklace and a rudraksha-style bead mala stands at right, gesturing toward the doorway. Another man with a red mark on his forehead is seated in the foreground in a white shirt. Several other people are visible in the room beyond the door.2012-05-18July 04 20142014-07-04 +1 copiesJuly 27 20082008-07-27May 18 20122012-05-18A photograph of a central figure in a saffron-orange robe, wearing a long garland of white and red flowers, walking through a white-walled doorway between two open reddish-brown doors. Behind him, a palm-frond garland hangs over the entrance and a decorated pandal with colourful cloth and a thatched roof stands under palm trees. Around him, men in white dhotis and shirts, a man in a blue checked shirt and a man in a pale beige shirt press hands together in greeting, and children stand at the left edge holding cloth bags. A man in a white kurta with a pendant on his chest, hands folded, walks beside him. Small Tamil signboards are on the right wall.2009-08-03A photograph of a crowd in a doorway area of a whitewashed building. A central figure in an orange-red saffron robe and a matching orange-red turban wears a long white and red flower garland and a gold-and-orange beaded necklace, with long swept-back hair and a rudraksha mala. He stands smiling while surrounded by devotees in white shirts and white dhotis, many wearing rudraksha malas. A man at right in glasses and a white shirt faces him with folded attention. Red flower petals lie on the ground at the feet of the group. a person is the central saffron-robed figure, identified only by appearance cues, with devotees receiving him.2008-07-27A photograph taken in a narrow whitewashed corridor decorated with garlands of red and white flowers and green leaves hung over doorways. A central figure in an orange-red robe and matching red turban wears a long white flower garland, a gold necklace and a rudraksha mala, smiling as he walks through the crowd. Surrounding men in white shirts and trousers, one in a checked shirt and others in dhotis, press their palms together in greeting. A woman in a purple sari stands nearby. The figure's appearance (turban, saffron-orange clothing, gold ornaments and mala) is consistent with Swamiji (probable), shown in person being welcomed in the ashram corridor.2008-07-27Photograph of a doorway in a whitewashed corridor decorated with pink and red flower garlands and green leaf festoons. A man in an orange-red turban and orange cloth with a white garland stands in the centre, with a younger man in orange robes beside him. Around them, people in white dhotis and shirts, a boy in white with a rudraksha-style necklace, and women in pink and in saris stand close together. In the foreground a woman holds a brass vessel with flowers, and a videographer films at right. Possibly an arrival or welcome moment in the ashram; the central figure's appearance is not sufficiently distinctive to confirm an identity.2008-07-27A street scene in a town with a roadside shop and a pink multi-storey building behind, a parked white van and utility poles. In the centre, a man with long dark hair wears an orange-red robe and a garland of beads, smiling and extending his hands toward a man in a white shirt and white dhoti. Around them, men in white shirts and dhotis, several uniformed police officers in khaki, and a man in orange with a shaved head and white tilak stand close together. One police officer on the right raises a hand. The orange-robed central figure matches the appearance cues for Swamiji, with long hair and saffron clothing, and the page indicates his presence, so the appearance-based label applies, though the face is not used for identification.2010-01-08May 24 20122012-05-24 +1 copies
