November 09 20072007-11-09A photograph inside a temple shrine at night. In the foreground, a figure in a long orange saffron wrap with a matching orange turban and long dark hair stands with palms joined before an altar. Beside them, a man in a white short-sleeved shirt and dark trousers and a second person in white stand with hands folded in prayer. The altar holds brass oil lamps, a lit flame, a brass bowl and a steel vessel. Behind it, a golden arch frames deity murti draped in red garments, bright garlands of marigolds and flowers, and a dark blue curtain. Flower arrangements hang at the left. The scene shows puja worship at a shrine.2008-12-30A photograph of a stage ritual. A bald man in a white shirt and white trousers kneels on a leopard-print rug with his palms pressed together in front of a seated figure. The seated figure wears an orange-saffron dhoti and shawl, rudraksha-style gold ornaments, a gold armband and a sandalwood-coloured forehead mark, and has long dark hair. On the right, a gold lion-headed chair is visible. A woman in a green sari with a red border stands at left holding a small object, and another woman in a white sari with blue border and red-orange shawl stands behind holding a tray. A vase of pink flowers sits at the left edge of the stage. The seated figure matches the appearance of a person, with long swept hair, saffron clothing and rudraksha-style gold ornaments, receiving the kneeling devotee's respect at a padapuja-type ritual.2012-12-12A seated orange-robed man with a rudraksha mala and flower garlands sits on an ornate gold throne in a temple-like pavilion with carved grey stone pillars and orange curtains. Behind him stands a deity murti with a trident beside a goddess, both garlanded. Around the throne, devotees in white and yellow-bordered clothes kneel and sit on a red and orange floor; some have hands folded in prayer, and a woman in white lights small oil lamps. Brass lamps stand at the sides, with bowls of fruit and orange cloths placed in front.2010-08-14February 09 20122012-02-09A photo of a welcoming ritual inside a canopied tent with yellow curtains and a red-walled backdrop. A man with long dark hair, wearing an orange robe, rudraksha-style garland and floral garlands, sits on an ornate gold throne with his palms pressed together. Around a red patterned carpet, several people sit on the floor: women in white and yellow-bordered saris and orange clothing, and men in white. They hold brass bowls and offer fruit, sweets and food arranged on a long white cloth in front of them. Brass lamps and offering plates are visible on the carpet. Other seated devotees in white sit along the left side of the tent.2009-11-19September 19 20132013-09-19May 10 20142014-05-10Indoor padapuja ritual in an ornate hall with gold lion sculptures and a wooden throne. A figure in orange robes, a pink and white flower garland, bangles and a gold waist belt sits on the throne with bare feet, while devotees in white clothes and orange shawls kneel and hold incense sticks and oil lamps on a leopard-print cloth. A woman in a white dress holds a tray of flower petals and lamps. A microphone stand, laptop and a young person in orange appear in the background.2012-12-21April 17 20162016-04-17A photograph of a satsang or puja gathering on a carpeted floor. On the right, a figure in orange-saffron robes with a white forehead mark, long dark swept-back hair, and a multi-strand garland of red and pink beads sits on a brown raised seat and holds a ritual item in the right hand; this appearance is compatible with a person presiding role, though the cues are not conclusive. Seated before him are several devotees in white clothes with orange-saffron shawls: a man at left in white holding a small brass cup, a woman in white with palms pressed together, and an older woman in white with glasses drinking from a silver cup. Trays of offerings and flowers lie on the floor in front, and a decorated backdrop with deity figures and golden ornaments stands behind. Other participants sit around the room, and a white screen and speaker are visible at left.2012-12-26August 20 20142014-08-20
