A photograph inside a temple hall at night. A bare-chested older priest in white dhoti with a yellow border stands with palms joined before a deity murti draped in pink cloth and garlanded with yellow and red flowers, on a gilded platform. Brass oil lamps sit before the murti, and a banana leaf stands near the lamps. Around the priest, several men and boys in white dhotis and orange shawls stand with hands folded in prayer on a red carpet, while a small boy in white kneels at the front with joined hands. Hanging lamps and flower garlands decorate the ceiling above.2016-12-12 +1 copiesDecember 22 20162016-12-22A photograph inside a temple hall during pre-dawn worship. A line of about ten people with palms pressed together stands on a red carpet facing a shrine. On the right, a deity murti dressed in a pink and purple turban and draped in flower garlands stands beside gold lamps and a gold palanquin-style altar. In the centre, an elderly man with white hair, bare upper body and a white dhoti holds his hands folded in prayer. Younger men and boys in white dhotis and orange shawls stand beside him. Brass oil lamps stand on the floor, and a green banana-leaf decoration hangs near the shrine. A white canopy and a hanging lantern are overhead.2016-12-12October 18 20152015-10-18December 22 20162016-12-22 +1 copiesNight puja at a stone shrine with carved pillars and a deity murti draped in purple cloth, garlanded with marigolds, flanked by oil lamps and brass vessels. A shaved-headed man in saffron robes stands at left, hands joined in prayer, with a rudraksha-style bead necklace; beside him a boy in white clothes and a woman in a white sari with gold border stand at the altar, holding a tray with a small framed photo. The altar is decorated with a white cloth with saffron borders. Appearance is not sufficient to identify the saffron-robed man as a person, so he is described by role as a devotee in saffron robes.2007-10-15A photograph of a temple abhishekam at night. In the centre, a man in orange saffron robes with long curly hair and a rudraksha mala holds a lit oil lamp with a flame above a dark black shivalinga on a stone yoni pedestal. Behind him on the right, a large deity murti is adorned with yellow and orange garlands and a red-and-gold silk cloth. On the left, a man in orange robes stands with hands folded in anjali, another in orange sits playing a silver vessel, and a bald man in orange sits near a white marble statue. A younger orange-robed attendant stands behind the lingam. The walls are carved stone with floral garlands and purple flowers draped across the deity.2010-02-12A photograph of a temple ritual inside a plain whitewashed room with a ceiling fan-free concrete floor. In the centre, a deity murti is decorated with orange and red flower garlands and a silver-embellished garment, placed on a pink silk-covered platform. A man in white dhoti bends over the murti, apparently performing worship. To the left, several men stand in orange and red robes; one wears an ornate embroidered conical hat and carries a tall golden staff. A man in an orange jacket and orange cloth stands centrally, watching. A bare-chested man in a white cloth stands at the right edge beside a gilded ornament. Green leaves lie on the floor near the murti.2010-12-17August 09 20072007-08-09March 07 20162016-03-07October 15 20072007-10-15October 03 20082008-10-03
