A photograph taken at night of a group of boys and a few adults gathered closely around a silver aarti tray. A young man on the right wears a white shirt with an orange shawl draped over his shoulders and holds the tray, which carries a small flame, a bowl of white powder or camphor-like substance, a bowl of red kumkum, and a small bowl of liquid. Several boys in orange, red-checked, and white shirts stand with hands folded or palms raised, some with white and red markings on their foreheads, watching the ritual intently. An adult in a blue shirt stands at the lower left edge of the frame. The scene appears to be a small outdoor puja or aarti for children.A seated group of boys and young men on a cream floor during a ritual gathering. Around them, boys in orange, red and striped shirts sit with eyes closed or watching, and an older man in white with a red-bordered cloth sits in the background. Plates of fruit, flowers and small vessels are arranged on colourful mats.2011-09-20A photograph of a long row of seated children and young people performing a puja at brass thalis on woven mats. Bananas and small bowls of food lie around them. A seated man in a white shirt watches from the back, and a white-clad figure is partly visible at the top left, with red curtains and a white plastic chair behind. The scene looks like a communal meal or annadan.2012-04-08A young boy in a white graphic t-shirt with a dark beaded necklace stands with his head bowed, hands cupped forward as an adult's arm in an orange garment places small objects into his palms.
