September 15 20092009-09-15Close photograph of two people's hands clasped in a ritual gesture. On the left, a man in a white shirt with a silver wristwatch holds the hand of a person in orange-saffron robes on the right, whose hands cup and press together at the chest. Behind them is an ornate gold-leaf carved throne or seat. The orange-robed figure is partially visible, showing only arms and torso, so no face or identity can be determined from the frame. The scene suggests a pada puja or blessing exchange.2010-02-10Close-up photo of two pairs of hands in contact. In the foreground, a seated person in orange saffron robes holds the hand of another person whose arm is visible at left, wearing a white checked or patterned shirt. The orange cloth covers the lap. A small white card with faint printed text hangs at the upper left, and a blurred white backdrop fills the background. The gesture appears to be a blessing or healing touch during darshan, though the framing shows only hands and clothing, not faces.2010-07-01September 22 20112011-09-22A photograph in a temple setting. A seated man in an orange saffron robe with a long rudraksha mala and a red bindi, with long swept-back dark hair, smiles while a older man in a white striped shirt and blue jeans bends forward to offer him something, holding his hand. A gold-patterned cloth is visible behind the hands.2009-09-14A photograph of a seated figure in a saffron-orange garment and matching head covering, with a rudraksha-style bead mala and a wristwatch and bracelet, leaning forward to hold out and exchange a small offering with a kneeling man in white clothes with a green-and-white sash. Several other people in white stand behind them, and a plate with food sits at the lower left. Smoke or haze fills the background, with a fan-like reflector and garlands beyond.2007-09-30December 19 20152015-12-19A photograph of a seated man in an orange sleeveless robe with a long rudraksha mala draped over his chest, his long swept-back hair visible, receiving a clasped handshake or hand gesture from a man in a white kurta and white dhoti standing to the left, who has a gold-coloured ornamental object at his waist. Behind them, other men in orange robes stand near a red curtain, a white floor fan and a microphone stand are visible at right, and a standing man in a pink shirt appears at far left. The seated figure has distinctive long hair, orange robes and rudraksha malas, consistent with a probable Swamiji (probable) presenting as a guru seated on stage; the printed page places him at the event.2010-09-08Close-up photo of two pairs of hands joined in a ritual gesture. On the right, a woman in a white garment with a rudraksha mala and an orange lanyard holds the hand of another person; her hand bears a silver ring and an orange sleeve is visible. The hand at right wears a gold ring and a white sleeve, and a small pendant on an orange and black bead mala hangs near the top right. The hand at left, wearing a gold bangle, rests in it, while a garland of white jasmine and red roses with green leaves and an orange cloth lie to the left. A red and gold cloth sits below. No face is visible. The pendant bears a small portrait, but the figure's identity cannot be determined from appearance alone.2008-01-01
