Close-up, upward-angled view of a whitewashed stone temple wall and pillar at night. A carved pillar with a lotus-petalled capital and octagonal shaft rises beside a decorated frieze with arched panels and sculpted figures along the roofline above. Carved scrollwork decorates the lower shaft. No people are visible and no ritual activity is shown; the scene is architectural only.

Close view of carved grey stone architecture inside an old temple: a projecting stone ledge or cornice supported by carved corbels and pillars, with decorative lion-like or mythical animal heads at its ends and ornate stepped stonework above. No people are visible. The setting appears to be an ancient temple hall.

A night photograph of a white-washed temple tower (gopuram or vimana) with ornate carved sculpture and a stepped top, rising above grey stone masonry walls. Bamboo poles lashed together form scaffolding against the lower corner, with a metal ladder at the left edge. A dark sky forms the background, and there are no people visible.

Close view of the weathered grey stone exterior of a temple, with tiered mouldings, carved floral and scroll bands along the upper walls, and a small Om symbol painted in yellow on a lower ledge. At the bottom edge, the top of an orange-and-red cloth worn by a partially visible person is seen. No other people are visible in the frame.

Interior view of a stone temple wall with layered white granite mouldings and a carved projecting stone spout shaped like a lion-head or makara gargoyle, its open mouth angled toward the floor. Bamboo poles prop against the wall beside a metal safety railing. Below the spout is a shallow rectangular stone drain or basin on the damp, stained floor. Behind the railing, painted columns in red and green with gold trim are visible in a dim doorway. No people are visible in the scene. The image has a faded, washed-out tone.

Interior view of a stone temple doorway with carved granite pillars and a heavy lintel decorated with floral and scroll relief. A fluorescent tube light hangs under the lintel, with a dark opening beyond. In the foreground, the tops of several people's heads are visible at the bottom edge, including a man in white with an orange cloth at the lower left and a bald man at the lower right.

Interior view of a stone temple corridor with a dark granite ceiling made of long slab stones supported by carved stone brackets and beams. Ornately carved columns and corbels line the left side, receding into shadow. No people are visible.

Close-up photograph of carved granite architecture in a temple hall. Two square stone pillars rise diagonally from the lower left and centre, their faces decorated with raised floral and foliate relief panels. Above them, ornate bracket capitals with scrolled volutes and pendant tapered finials support a heavy stone beam. Weathered granite surfaces and shadowed ceiling beams fill the background, with a patch of bright sky at the upper left. No people are visible in the frame.

A night-time photograph of a temple construction site at the Adikailasa area. Carved grey stone blocks with floral and scroll relief patterns are stacked into a square plinth beneath a sagging white tarpaulin supported by wooden poles. Fluorescent tube lights are mounted on poles around the site, and reddish earth and cement sacks lie in the foreground. No people are visible.
