Around him, a large group of saffron-robed sannyasis and devotees sit and stand, many with shaved heads, white vertical tilak marks on their foreheads, and rudraksha malas. A man in white clothes at the left holds a camera. Brass pots, plates of offerings and a kalasha sit at the pit's edge, and a gilded deity murti appears at the top left in the dim hall. Many people are visible, mostly in orange and red.2013-03-10February 07 20162016-02-07Night outdoor fire ritual. A yellow-rimmed square fire pit blazes in the foreground. A man in a white dhoti with a white head cloth and a white shawl, bare-chested with a rudraksha-style necklace and gold armlet, leans over the flames offering an orange cloth into the fire. Behind him, three men in saffron-orange robes with shaved heads and white forehead markings stand; one holds a brass tray with flowers, another stands centrally. On the left, two young women in orange saris with beaded necklaces and forehead markings sit cross-legged, with a few seated onlookers behind them. On the right, a decorated altar is heaped with yellow and orange marigold garlands, fruit and brass vessels. A man in white clothing plays a small instrument at the back.2013-11-07A night-time homa at a brick fire pit blazing in the centre of the frame. A standing priest in an orange shawl and red-orange garment, with a long mala and a red tilak, holds a tray and stands before a silver ornate seat. Around the fire, seated devotees in red and maroon saris and orange robes sit on mats, some with palms joined in prayer. Bald, white-marked monastics in orange and red shawls sit on the right, and brass pots, kalasha-style vessels, pink flowers and ghee bowls surround the fire. Several white-clad devotees with joined hands sit in the background. The orange-clad figure at the centre is a priest, not an identifiable individual.2014-08-01October 11 20142014-10-11September 24 20172017-09-24 +1 copiesOctober 15 20132013-10-15February 07 20162016-02-07October 11 20142014-10-11
