Around them men in white dhotis and shirts, some with white shawls and rudraksha malas, walk and gesture. A gated shrine with a lit lamp is visible in the background, with a sanctum doorway beyond.

Photograph of a group walking across a bare concrete courtyard beside a pale wall with a faded blue-grey base. A central figure in an orange saffron robe and orange head wrap wears a long white jasmine garland and a rudraksha mala, and walks barefoot. Around him, men in white shirts and white dhotis walk alongside; one holds a red and white banner with an emblem. On the right, a man in white dhoti and shirt wears an orange shawl and a rudraksha mala and gestures toward the group. A small temple shrine with colourful decoration is visible at upper left.

A procession walks across a stone-paved temple courtyard past carved granite pillars and a temple gopuram-style facade. A man in an orange saffron robe with a shaved head and tilak leads the group, while a man in a red and saffron shawl carries a ceremonial silver kalasha or pot, and a shirtless man in a white dhoti carries fruit and flower offerings. Around them, men in white shirts and white dhotis wear rudraksha malas and walk in a line; a man in a white shirt on the right has a tilak on his forehead. The scene reads as a temple visit in Tamil Nadu.

A photograph of a procession walking down a tiled corridor inside a building with a barred window grille and fluorescent light. At centre, a figure wears an orange-saffron robe, an orange head covering and a white flower garland around the neck, walking between attendants. Surrounding men wear white shirts and white dhotis, several with lanyards and beaded necklaces. Two attendants carry large round fans or umbrellas with red and orange fringed borders and a dark blue emblem. A chalkboard with writing is visible on the left wall. The scene resembles a ceremonial escort into an event hall.

A procession in a temple corridor under a red and gold canopy with tassels. In the centre, a man in an orange-saffron dhoti and shawl with a long garland of white and red flowers and gold necklaces walks smiling, with a tilak on his forehead and a headband. Beside him a shaved-headed man in white dhoti, bare-chested, with ash markings and a gold chain, holds an umbrella-like staff. Other attendants in white, orange and maroon clothing carry silver staffs and a gold-rimmed fan, with rudraksha malas around their necks. Ornate temple carvings line the background. Text on the page and captions aside, the scene shows a ritual procession with attendants and ceremonial staffs.

A photograph of a group walking along a white-pillared veranda with terracotta tiles at a palace setting, surrounded by green trees. In the centre, a man with long dark hair and a beard wears a flowing saffron-orange robe and sandals, and appears to be the principal figure; he is the a person by his long swept hair, saffron robe and presentation as the central figure of the group. Around him, men in white dhotis and cream shirts walk, one shirtless man wears a lavender-grey dhoti with a sacred thread, and a woman in a white sari with a shawl walks at right. A man in the left foreground wears a rudraksha-style necklace with a bare chest, and a cameraman with a video camera stands near the pillars.

A photograph of a procession under a covered shed with a fringed canopy umbrella in white and red overhead. A man in the centre wears a saffron-orange robe, a long white and red flower garland, rudraksha beads and a red tilak, with long swept-back hair; he walks forward with hands clasped, and the appearance is consistent with a person candidate but the cues are not strong enough to confirm. Men in white dhotis and shirts walk around him; one on the left carries a tray of flowers, and one on the right in white with a red and gold shawl holds a decorated basket with flowers. A young boy in a red checked shirt walks at the left, and devotees in white and saris follow behind with decorated umbrellas and drums visible at the right edge.

A photograph of a group of men walking barefoot along a stone-paved colonnade of a temple corridor with blue-painted pillars and a red-and-green roof. In the centre, a man in an orange robe with a flower garland and a purple-bordered shawl walks at the front, with a red-clothed figure beside him. Around them are bare-chested men in white dhotis with rudraksha-style necklaces, and men in white shirts and dhotis. A man on the left wears an orange cloth over a white dhoti. Behind them, stone columns and temple walls stretch into the distance.
