A shaved-headed young man in orange robes stands on the left, touching a wooden kalasha-like vessel topped with a bundle of straw tied with orange cord. A second orange-robed person stands at the right, wearing a long-haired appearance, orange garment with gold border and rudraksha mala, tying the orange cord around the straw crown. The wooden pot is wrapped with a yellow marigold garland and sits on a stone base with offerings of purple flowers nearby.

Outdoor photo of a copper-coloured ceremonial flagstaff (dhvaja stambha) with a carved base, being ritually prepared under a clear blue sky with palm trees behind. Three figures in orange saffron robes stand at the pole: one on the left reaches up with a bundle of grass or palm fronds, one in the centre is partly hidden, and one on the right in orange drapes a white and yellow garland around the pole. Yellow and orange marigold garlands hang on the base, and potted plants with yellow flower offerings sit at its foot. A man in orange clothing kneels at the lower left, and a few onlookers stand at the edges. Hindu flag-hoisting ritual preparation.

A man in orange and gold dhoti and shawl, with gold armbands and bangles, pulls a white rope to raise the flag. A second man in orange dhoti steadies the staff, its base draped with red and yellow marigold garlands. Coconut palms frame the scene, with a few seated devotees in white and orange at the edge.
