A thulabharam ceremony on a decorated stage. A man seated on a gold-framed swing-style scale wears a saffron-orange robe, a gold crown-like headdress, a gold necklace and a long pink-and-white flower garland, and is smiling. On the right, a man in a white dhoti with a gold border pours or lifts a bag of gold-yellow cloth into the opposite pan, while a woman in an orange sari stands beside the scale. Behind them stand painted statues of deities with orange skin and gold ornaments, and a wooden door panel is framed in red and yellow bunting. Golden chains hang from the beam and rose-petal and white floral garlands drape the seat. The seated figure is identifiable only by appearance and role cues: saffron robe, crown-style headdress and garland, so he is a probable Swamiji seated on a thulabharam scale.2017-08-10August 12 20172017-08-12 +1 copiesA photograph of a Tulabharam ceremony under a decorated canopy hung with tassel and flower garlands. A figure seated on a raised golden seat wears a gold crown, a flower garland, a gold necklace and a bare upper body. Beside him, a bare-chested man in white dhoti with gold border and tilak holds up a large gold-yellow cloth bundle, while an attendant in orange robes and orange turban holds the other end of the scale chain. A decorated pillar with red, yellow and green tassels stands in the middle, and a painted deity backdrop glows with pink and purple light.2017-08-12A photo of a bearded man in a maroon and gold turban and a multicoloured beaded garland, smiling as he pours from a woven basket with a white and yellow cloth draped over its rim. Before him, a devotee with long dark matted hair, an orange sash over the shoulder and a rudraksha-style bead bracelet, leans forward to receive the offering. Behind them, a golden deity murti wearing a crown and silver jewellery stands beside a backdrop of yellow, white and red flower garlands and a gilded arch. The setting suggests a ritual offering or abhishekam in a temple-like hall.2018-01-09February 21 20202020-02-21 +1 copiesA stage event with a bowing man in an orange robe and long dark dreadlocks reaching to touch the orange shawl of a seated bald elder wearing an orange and gold garment, a crown-like band of flowers on his head, and an orange-and-gold shawl; the seated elder sits on a golden throne with carved gold filigree before a gold-framed backdrop showing a deity murti in white and gold with a red turban and crown. A young man with dreadlocks, white tripundra marks and a garland stands at right in orange robes, smiling and holding his hands together. Gold elephant figurines flank the throne, and a red curtain and a brass lamp stand complete the setting.2017-02-14August 12 20172017-08-12 +1 copiesJanuary 09 20182018-01-09 +1 copiesDecember 31 20182018-12-31 +1 copiesAugust 13 20172017-08-13 +1 copiesAugust 12 20172017-08-12 +1 copiesA photograph of a seated man on an ornate silver throne with a carved lion-form armrest and leopard-print cushions. He wears a rust-brown turban, a brown robe with gold trim, and a white and red marigold garland with a purple flower garland across his lap, and holds a sheaf of papers. To the left, a standing attendant in an orange turban and orange cloth, wearing a pearl-bead necklace and pearl bracelets, hands him the papers. Behind them is a painted colourful pillar backdrop.2017-11-17
