February 13 20132013-02-13February 13 20132013-02-13Five men walk together across a sandy riverbank beside a worn sandstone embankment, with an orange bus and a weathered wooden boat in the background. Four men on the left wear rust-red and gold-bordered dhotis and shawls with gold necklaces and rudraksha malas; one has a tilak on his forehead. The man on the far right, wearing a saffron-orange kurta, long orange shawl and sandals, has long dark hair and a short beard and is touching his shoulder while the others look ahead. No crown, turban or ceremonial headdress is visible, so the presence of the a person candidate is uncertain.2015-10-27February 13 20132013-02-13January 30 20142014-01-30Photograph of a group of saffron-robed sadhus walking along a sandy riverbank at dusk, with boats moored on calm water and hazy sky behind them. In the centre, a man in a red-maroon turban and gold beaded necklace holds his hands together, while a man in bright orange robes with a shawl walks to the right, hands clasped in front. Several other ascetics in maroon and mustard dhotis, some with rudraksha malas, follow, and a white-clad woman and other people stand in the background. The scene suggests a Ganga ghat visit with devotees.2015-10-27January 09 20062006-01-09A dusk photograph on a sandy riverbank with moored wooden boats and long bamboo poles, a hazy river behind them and a stone building at right. Three saffron-clad men walk together in the foreground: the man at right wears a bright orange kurta and has long swept-back dark hair, with hands pressed together, while two shaved-headed men in dark maroon-brown robes with gold borders wear layered gold necklaces and beaded garlands. A group of onlookers in white shirts, a dhoti and saris stands to the left. One candidate matches cues of long swept-back hair and saffron clothing, so this is Swamiji (probable) walking along the ghat with his companions.2015-10-27A group walks along a stone riverside ghat beside the Ganga at Varanasi on a hazy morning, with several boats moored on the water. In front, a man in a white shirt and grey trousers strides ahead. Central to the group, a figure in long dark hair, a white flower-bead necklace, a saffron cloth and a forehead marking walks with sannyasi-style companions in saffron robes and rudraksha malas. A bald companion in saffron robes walks at left. Devotees and bathers sit or stand on the steps at right, with a red-and-white patterned cloth spread on the stone. a person is visibly the central figure in saffron with long hair and ornate bead garlands, shown in an in-person setting.2013-02-13Outdoor ghat steps beside the Ganges in Varanasi, with a wide hazy river and sandbank behind. A shirtless man in a white dhoti and white shawl walks down the stone steps with his arms outstretched, flanked by a cameraman filming and a man in white steadying him by the arm. To the right, several men in saffron and orange robes and rudraksha malas stand on the steps, including a bald man in orange near the top. A red brick wall, a small open kiosk pavilion and a cameraman on a tripod are in the background. Two visible persons appear in the scene; an older man in orange and a man in white are on the right edge.2015-10-03June 04 20162016-06-04A photograph of a group of sannyasis walking barefoot across a sandy riverbank at dusk, with a wide, hazy river and moored boats behind them. In the centre, a man in a dark red turban and a long gold necklace wears a dark red and gold-bordered robe and carries a white plastic bag. Beside him, a man in a flowing saffron-orange robe and sandals walks with hands clasped, apparently a candidate for a person by appearance, though the cues are limited. Other sannyasis in rust-red robes with gold borders and rudraksha malas walk alongside, and a bald man in a red robe folds his arms at right. Behind them, women in pink saris and onlookers stand near the water, and a photographer crouches at the left edge.2015-10-27
