August 13 20082008-08-13A standing figure in a long orange-saffron robe stands in the foreground of a paved plaza before a towering gilded statue of a deity holding a spear-like staff, with ornate jewelry and a garland. Behind the statue rise limestone cliffs covered in green vegetation. To the left, a red-and-white staircase leads up toward the shrine, lined with small colourful figures. A yellow railing fences the statue base. A maroon banner in the lower centre bears printed Tamil text. Several tourists in casual clothes stand at the left edge. The orange-robed figure has long dark hair and a stance that matches the page's appearance cues, so Swamiji (probable) is noted with the orange robe and long hair as the qualifying cues; the figure is a physical person in the scene.2008-08-13A figure in a flowing orange-saffron robe stands on an open paved plaza in front of a massive gold-painted statue of a standing deity holding a tall golden vel-like spear. The statue wears a gold necklace, armband and draped dhoti, and rises above a yellow railing and a stone staircase on the left. A limestone cliff covered in green trees forms the backdrop. Several onlookers in casual clothing, including a man in a brown shirt and a woman in shorts, walk near the stairs on the left. A red banner with photographs sits along the railing. The orange-robed figure has long dark hair and appears to be a sannyasi; the appearance-based cues are long hair and saffron clothing, but the face and distance make identification uncertain, so no specific identity is asserted from appearance.2008-08-13A man in an orange saffron wrap stands in the foreground of a paved plaza, with long dark hair and a red vibhuti mark on his forehead, looking toward the camera. Behind him rises a towering gold statue of a standing deity holding a staff, with a gold-tinted ornate crown and jewelled garlands, set before a limestone cliff and green jungle. A long flight of red-carpeted stairs with painted gopuram-style shrine decorations climbs toward the cave-temple entrance on the left. Several visitors walk and stand across the plaza, including a few in orange robes, and a yellow fenced area and a pink banner sit near the statue base.2008-08-13A figure in a saffron-orange robe with long dark hair stands in the foreground, one hand raised in greeting, in front of a towering gold statue of a standing deity holding a spear-like staff, with a crown and ornate jewellery, set against a limestone cliff with green vegetation. A yellow metal railing and a flight of red-and-white steps line the left side. Two onlookers stand at the far left and a banner with Tamil text is in the lower centre.2008-08-13February 03 20152015-02-03Photo 11742888August 13 20082008-08-13May 26 20052005-05-26A man with long, swept-back dark hair and a white vertical tilak on his forehead walks in the foreground wearing a saffron-orange sleeveless wrap and a heavy gold bead necklace of large ornamental beads. He is smiling and looking down. Behind him, a group of men in white dhotis and kurtas, several wearing yellow shawls and rudraksha malas, walk along a dirt path. A young man in the group wears a black sash reading Paramahamsa or similar. Behind them rises a tall, intricately carved white gopuram tower of a South Indian temple under an overcast sky, with a leafy green tree at the left edge. Swamiji (probable) is the man in the orange wrap with long hair and gold beaded necklace.2010-01-08July 03 20072007-07-03A standing man with long dark hair, wearing an orange saffron robe with gold border, a gold necklace and a red bindi, smiles and raises his right hand in greeting in front of a richly decorated altar. Behind him stand two large gilded deity murtis adorned with flower garlands in red, yellow, white and purple, and gold jewelry; one wears an orange turban and holds a trident. Below, a seated white statue in orange robes sits beside offerings of bananas and fruit, brass oil lamps and ritual vessels on a tray. A yellow floral wall and a painted landscape fill the background.2008-01-01
