Photograph of a temple hall with a golden draped backdrop. A figure seen from behind, with a tall dark matted topknot and an orange-and-gold shawl over bare shoulders, sits in the foreground with a small oil lamp burning on a brass stand; they appear to be performing an aarti or lamp offering. Ahead, on a raised dais, a seated deity murti or figure is dressed in red and garlanded with yellow and orange marigolds, with a red-cushioned stone seat and kalasha-like brass ornaments flanking it. A second seated figure in white and blue sits on a throne to the left under a decorative banner. White pedestal fans stand near the altar. Only the person in the foreground is a physical human clearly visible, with partially visible attendants at the edge.2016-07-19Photograph inside a temple-like hall during an aarti with a lit brass lamp. In the foreground, a blurred figure in orange robes holds up a tall, multi-tiered brass lamp with many lit wicks. Behind, a seated figure in orange and red garments and a rudraksha mala sits on an ornate gold throne with a golden canopy, framed by a garland of red, yellow and green flowers. A female figure in orange sits near a microphone at the lower centre. Gold pillars and a deity murti stand beside the throne. The seated figure at the throne shows bare-chested adornments and a rudraksha mala; his appearance is consistent with the page reference, but a clear identification is uncertain. Several people visible in the scene.2017-07-30A priest in a dark shawl raises a brass aarti lamp with flame toward a seated figure on a red-cushioned throne in a gold-embossed shrine. The seated figure wears a red and gold garment, a red beaded garland, a black cap, and is surrounded by yellow marigold garlands and a golden umbrella canopy. Gold relief panels with figures decorate the back wall, and a small gold standard with a decorated flag stands at left. Two saffron-robed attendants stand at right, one holding a paper. White standing fans flank the platform, and a pale red curtain hangs at right.2016-07-19A ceremonial aarti in a temple-style hall with red drapes. In the foreground, a priest with a bare back and white sacred thread raises a flaming lamp toward a deity murti of a goddess with a crown and golden ornaments, painted on a backdrop above a golden, jewelled throne. Seated on the throne, a bearded man in saffron robes, a red turban, a white flower garland and a gold necklace sits with hands resting on the armrests. A golden trident stands at left, a gold-and-red parasol canopy and a decorated deity figure with flower garlands appear at right, and brass lamps and offerings sit on the altar.2016-10-10January 06 20132013-01-06A photograph of a ceremonial aarti in a hall. In the foreground, a bare-chested priest with a shaved head, wearing a red-and-gold dhoti-style cloth and a beaded rudraksha-type mala, raises a silver multi-flame lamp high with his right arm. Seated on an ornate gold throne with a tiger-skin cushion is a figure in saffron robes with a saffron turban, a rudraksha mala and a gold-coloured necklace, with a tiger-skin cover on the footstool. The backdrop is a purple cloth printed with large deity figures, flanked by tall brass lamps and a brass trident, with a red valance above. Appearance cues for the seated figure are visible but the image is small, so identity is uncertain; the seated figure is described by role only.A ceremonial stage scene during an outdoor puja. A seated figure on an ornate gold throne with pink flower petals and a white garland, bare-chested with gold jewellery, is the focal point, flanked by gold lion-like pillars and trident-topped stands. In the foreground, a blurred devotee with a flower garland in their hair raises a bright oil lamp toward the throne. Several people in white robes and saffron/orange shawls sit on the raised platform, including one with long white dreadlocks in a pink-orange cloth, and a man in an orange-gold kurta at right. The orange-clad figure at lower left is also in the frame.2016-05-24A worship scene in a temple hall with deep red drapes behind a golden throne. A large cutout photograph of a smiling man in saffron robes and an orange turban sits on a red-cushioned throne decorated with multicoloured garland, with lion figures at its base. He raises one hand in a blessing gesture and has rudraksha-style beads and a gold necklace. Beside him, a golden-framed altar holds a garlanded deity murti in green and gold cloth with a crown, and a golden standing figure holds a kalasha-like object. In the foreground, a person in dark clothing raises a lit multi-wick oil lamp, an aarti gesture. Only the arm and sleeve of this one person are visible. The seated figure is a printed or mounted image, not a physical person.2017-11-27A photograph of a ceremony rotated on its side. A figure in a maroon robe with a pink-and-white flower garland sits on an ornate gold throne, with a gold canopy behind. To the right, a painted image shows a deity with a large face and an ornate crown beside a golden trident. In the foreground, a blurred person in a light-coloured garment holds a lit flame and offerings, and a bright oil lamp flame burns to the right. Red drapery forms the backdrop.2016-10-06May 22 20162016-05-22A seated figure in orange-saffron robes and an orange head wrap sits on an ornate gilded throne with carved floral and scroll patterns, against a red backdrop and gold drapery. A priest with a shaved head, wearing a red-orange dhoti and shawl and sacred thread marks on his arm, faces him and holds a lit multi-flame aarti lamp with flames rising. A silver trident stands in front of the throne, and a tiger-striped cloth covers the seat. The scene suggests an aarti being offered to the seated figure during a ritual. The seated figure has long hair, a beaded necklace and rudraksha-style beads, which fits Swamiji (probable) as a seated honoured guest or teacher being offered aarti by the priest.2013-02-11July 20 20172017-07-20
