July 02 20142014-07-02A crowded indoor temple-like hall with a large framed deity mural on the back wall and framed portraits and temple pictures lining the walls. A doorway with orange and marigold garlands leads to an inner area. Devotees fill the room: a woman in a red blouse and orange saree with a gold necklace reaches toward a young woman with white vibhuti marks and a rudraksha-style necklace, while men in white shirts and dhotis stand nearby, and a woman in a striped saree holds a small child. Several people wear orange clothing.2014-07-02 +1 copiesIndoor photograph of a reception room with white walls and many framed portraits of saints and sannyasis hanging above orange drapes. On the right, a man with long swept-back dark hair wears a dark red-brown robe, rudraksha malas and gold bangles and holds a small metal cup, appearing to offer it to a line of women and young people. A bald man in an orange robe stands in the centre, and a young man in white with a tilak mark stands among the visitors. Several women wear saris and sarees in green, blue and orange, and one braids her hair. Appearance-based label: the man with long swept-back hair, rudraksha malas and ceremonial gold bangles on the right is a probable Swamiji (probable) receiving devotees.2014-07-02 +1 copiesJuly 02 20142014-07-02 +1 copiesA crowded indoor hall with concrete walls and large windows shows a devotional gathering. Several women in saffron and orange saris, one in a dark red blouse and orange sari, and a woman at left in a purple and green garment with a rudraksha mala, all hold their hands folded. Two shaven-headed men in orange dhoti and shawl stand on a red carpet at right, one with hands folded and the other behind him; a man in orange clothing with a camera is also at far right. Men in white dhotis and kurtas stand in the background. Garlands of yellow and white streamers hang from the ceiling, and a framed photo display with a banner is on the wall behind.2011-08-23July 21 20132013-07-21A crowded indoor scene in a yellow-walled hall with framed pictures and a red curtain. A barefoot sannyasi in a saffron-orange shawl stands at centre-right, his bare shoulder and back visible, with his hands raised toward devotees. He has long dark hair. A man in white shirt and white dhoti stands at the right edge facing forward. Around them, many devotees press in: women in blue, orange and green saris with braids and gold necklaces, elderly men in white shirts and spectacles, and an older woman in a green floral sari with a tilak at right. Several people have palms pressed together or extended in greeting.2009-01-12June 26 20142014-06-26December 10 20092009-12-10June 23 20142014-06-23August 24 20142014-08-24
