A bald priest in white dhoti and shawl with maroon border sits on a low wooden platform, reaching out to touch a small green-robed deity murti decorated with a crown and garlands. Behind the murti is a tall Shivalingam wrapped in red and gold cloth with a white flower garland and rudraksha mala. Brass kalasha, oil lamps and a lit lamp stand on the platform, with a brass pot holding leaves and flowers at right.2011-09-08September 08 20112011-09-08A shaved-headed priest seen from behind wears a white dhoti-style cloth with gold borders and a gold necklace, and holds a brass lamp with a bright flame toward a shrine. Gold bangles and beaded armlets adorn his arms. Behind him stands a gilded shrine arch decorated with red flowers, flanked by tall silver pillars, brass oil lamps and a glowing lamp on the left, inside a temple hall with white pillars. The scene shows an aarti offering at the shrine. No visible a person figure is clearly identifiable from appearance, so the person is described only by role as a priest.2012-05-09A shaved-headed priest in a white dhoti and shawl with gold borders stands in profile at night, holding a silver bell in his right hand and a silver aarti lamp with several burning flames in his left. Smoke rises from the lamp against a dark background. A partially visible person in orange clothing appears at the lower left edge. The priest, with his bare upper body and gold bangles, appears to be performing an evening aarti ritual.2015-05-05Night ritual aarti at an open-sided hall with a corrugated roof and pennants. A standing priest in white dhoti and shawl with red-and-white border, bare-chested with a gold-toned beaded necklace, holds up a silver lamp with a flame in one hand. Seated devotees in white fill the foreground and background, some with hands folded. Leaf festoons and striped cloth hangings decorate the space. A figure in the lower right wears a white garment and glasses. The priest's build and dress match ordinary ritual attire, so the identity of the officiant is uncertain.2010-10-16 +1 copiesNight ritual photograph in a open-sided pavilion hung with festoons and a row of green leaves.
