December 24 20092009-12-24December 24 20092009-12-24A chalk or powder rangoli drawn on a grey concrete ground shows a seated figure in a pink-red turban and pink-red robes, with dark beads around the neck, one hand raised in blessing and bare feet on a dark grey pedestal. The pedestal and figure sit inside a large green triangle edged with a white scalloped border, and a small oil lamp burns at the apex of the triangle. No people are visible; the figure is a drawn depiction, and the page identifies it as the a person event, but the figure's appearance alone does not establish identity.2010-01-01September 12 20122012-09-12May 02 20122012-05-02Close overhead photo of a rangoli being made on a brown floor. A white chalk outline of a star-like lotus design with wavy petals is filled with coloured powders: yellow, brick red and green at the centre. Two hands, one at upper left and one at upper right, reach toward the design. Two white paper cups holding blue and brown powder sit on the floor, with a small yellow powder packet at the top. No other physical people are visible.2012-05-02May 02 20122012-05-02A photograph of a white kolam, a traditional rangoli drawn in lime or rice powder, covering reddish-brown earth. Its intricate symmetrical floral and leaf-like loops radiate from a central lump of cow dung topped with small pink and white flowers, a Pongal-style decoration.2018-01-14December 24 20092009-12-24A young girl with a long braid and glasses sits cross-legged on a concrete floor, drawing a white kolam rangoli with her right hand. She wears a pink and white floral-print kurta over white trousers, with a gold bangle on her wrist. Sunlight falls across the floor from an open doorway, and a terracotta pot sits at the top edge of the frame. No a person candidate is visible.2012-05-02December 26 20102010-12-26May 02 20122012-05-02
