December 31 20062006-12-31Outdoor ritual scene on a dirt ground beside a row of dark stone deity sculptures under tall palms. A man in orange robes and a rudraksha mala sits cross-legged on a raised red platform before a tall copper pillar with hanging garlands. Near him a small brass vessel sits on a white cloth, and a colourful geometric rangoli with yellow flower petals decorates the ground in the foreground. Several white-clad men sit in meditation on a mat to the right, and a small fire with smoke rises near the seated figures.2010-10-08Outdoors in a dusty courtyard beside a thatched shed and a corrugated fence, a woman in white kneels and fills a multicoloured floral kolam on the bare ground with coloured powder, tapping from a small wooden bowl. A seated figure in an orange robe and orange shawl sits on a white-draped chair with bare feet resting on a small mat. Four people stand nearby in white dhotis and white garments, several with orange shawls, one holding a metal vessel near a plastic chair. Cattle are visible under the shed at right and a few trees stand in the yard.2008-01-16November 14 20052005-11-14December 29 20082008-12-29Two men kneel on red earth at an outdoor site, arranging marigold petals into large flower designs on white sheets. The nearest sheet holds an orange-petalled oval with a silver-outlined white swan-like or bird motif edged in purple, and a second sheet beside it shows a similar design with yellow petals. Plastic bags of petals sit nearby, and white tent walls and scattered sticks are visible behind. One more figure stands in the distance. The man at left wears a striped shirt and the man behind him wears a white shirt. Other petal mats lie in the background.2007-01-01December 12 20062006-12-12December 22 20062006-12-22December 22 20062006-12-22Outdoor photo of a seated man in an orange saffron robe sitting cross-legged in meditation on a low wooden seat in a dirt courtyard. Around him is a large chalk-style kolam rangoli drawn in pink, purple and orange-red with white accents. Behind him stands a red stone pedestal holding a black stone lingam garlanded with yellow and orange flowers, beneath a tall copper-colored pillar. Dark stone deity murti sculptures line the left side, with coconut palms and flag poles with orange and red banners in the background, and a white building at right.2010-10-13A photograph of an open dirt field under tall coconut palms on a bright, hazy day. A group of about twenty men stands and sits in loose clusters on the sandy ground, several in white dhotis and shirts, one bare-chested man in the centre with a white cloth over his shoulder. Woven mats are spread on the ground, scattered paper litter lies around them, and a fenced area and distant buildings are visible behind. A tiny bright flame appears at the lower right edge.2006-12-31Outdoor photograph of a seated figure in an orange robe on a low red-and-cream platform at the centre of an open dirt courtyard. The figure sits in meditation posture with hands resting in the lap, facing the camera. Behind the platform stands a tall red-and-gold pillar-like structure with a black stone Nandi-style bull and a yellow-and-orange marigold garland. Large copper-coloured ring frames rise on either side, with coloured cloth banners on poles. A purple and pink kolam floral design is drawn on the ground in front of the platform, and the courtyard is lined with dark stone figures, palm trees and small shrines.2010-10-13
