Close view of several saffron-robed sannyasi seated during a ritual. In the foreground a bare-armed man in a saffron wrap extends an open palm over a polished metal vessel, while a seated man in a rust-orange robe with a long rudraksha mala wrapped around his waist holds a white-and-multicolour decorated ritual whisk or fan. Behind them a man wears a saffron dhoti, a layered rudraksha mala and a pendant necklace. Gold and brass details and a shadowy figure at left suggest an ashram hall setting with ritual objects.2018-01-06May 09 20122012-05-09 +1 copiesSeptember 14 20152015-09-14March 12 20182018-03-12Photograph of a ceremonial moment indoors on a gilded, orange-upholstered throne-style seat. In the foreground a man with long, swept-back grey hair and white tilak marks wears a saffron-orange robe and a dark rudraksha mala, holding a bundle of green stalks and offering them to a younger man seated beside him. That younger man, with a shaved head, white horizontal tilak, a dark rudraksha mala and a maroon-brown cloth, leans forward receiving the stalks over a silver bowl containing small offerings. A third person in the background wears orange and a red tilak. Striped fabric and a patterned wall are visible behind them. The foreground figure's identity is not established by visible cues beyond robe and hair, so the candidate is marked unsure.2015-09-14Close-up photograph of two people's hands passing a small silver vessel with a yellow flower and a sprig of dried grass tied to it. The hand on the left wears an orange saffron garment and is dusted with white ash; the other person wears a maroon garment, a dark beaded rudraksha-style mala with gold beads, and a colourful wrist thread. Behind them is an ornate gold-and-orange backdrop with a golden scroll motif. Only hands and torsos are visible.2015-09-14September 14 20152015-09-14September 14 20152015-09-14August 31 20152015-08-31September 14 20152015-09-14 +1 copiesClose-up photo of a bare-chested man with a long rudraksha mala and a ceremonial gold-trimmed cloth, kneeling and holding the bare foot of a seated person in rust-red robes with gold border. Both figures sit near a silver-toned ornamental stand carved with a leaf motif, and a pink-lit stage backdrop glows behind them. The kneeling figure has white ash stripes on his shoulders. Only the lower bodies and hands of the seated figure are visible. Whether the kneeling figure is a person cannot be established from appearance alone.2018-04-26September 14 20152015-09-14
