Outdoor fire ritual on sandy ground under trees, with a long low row of burning logs and smoke rising across the frame. A man in white dhoti and shirt pours liquid from a red bucket onto the fire, while a man in an orange shawl with long dark hair stands beside a rake or tool, and another man in white with an orange shawl and dhoti stands at right. Several people in white clothing stand in a row at left near a metal-roofed structure. The scene suggests a homa or yagna fire ceremony, with a palm and tree line behind.

Outdoor scene at a sandy ground beside a wall with striped band, with a smoky fire pit on the left where small flames burn among ash and logs. Roughly a dozen men in white dhotis and white kurtas stand in a loose group, one holding a video camera on his shoulder, others with hands folded. On the right, several men in orange-saffron robes sit on a low stone platform beside a white-draped table, a microphone and water bottle on it, and a leafy young tree stands between. A man in white stands at the far left near the smoke. Foreground shows a man with curly hair in white from behind.

Photograph of a nighttime fire ritual at an outdoor brick-lined fire pit. Several men in white dhotis and white shirts, some wearing lanyards and name badges, lean over the pit feeding wood into a bright flame. A man in a white dhoti at left holds a metal pot. Smoke rises into the night air, with a building, ladder and tarpaulin tents visible in the background. No one is identifiable as a person in this image, and the scene shows only ritual helpers.

Night scene at an outdoor ritual ground with scattered glowing embers and ash on the dirt. A standing figure in orange-saffron cloth with long dark hair holds a long wooden staff and stands near the fire remains, appearing to be a sannyasi or priest; the outfit and hair are visible but the face is too dark to judge. Seated in front of him is a young man in white dhoti and shirt with a red-orange shawl draped over his shoulders, eyes closed, sitting on the ground. Behind them, several other people in white clothing sit near small fires under a single harsh overhead light, with low walls in the background.

Outdoor photograph of a dusty open ground with dead trees and a low white wall behind. In the foreground, several people in white clothes with white head coverings sit on small wooden stools or low platforms beside shallow sunken fire pits with ash and charred logs, some still smouldering. A standing figure in an orange sari with dark hair walks across the middle of the scene. Other people in white stand in the background near stacks of firewood, one holding a long-handled tool. Smoke rises faintly in the hazy light.

Night-time outdoor cremation scene. A large mound of pale ash, dried vegetation and wood sits on the ground, with several bright flames burning along its top. A bare-chested man in a white dhoti stands at left, bending toward the fire. Beside him a man in white shirt and dhoti reaches toward the flames with a long pole. A woman in an orange-red saree stands at right among a group of men in white shirts and white dhotis, watching in silence. Green leaves are scattered at the base of the pile. About twenty people are visible in the dim background.

Outdoor smoky fire ritual on bare red earth beside coconut palms and a utility pole. A long-haired figure on the right wears a flowing saffron-orange robe and holds palms together in front of the chest, standing near the smoke. Two people in white ritual clothes kneel and bend over a fire area, one holding a red-orange cloth draped over a wooden frame. A person in white with hands folded in namaste stands at the far left, with another figure partly visible behind the smoke. Scattered wooden planks and grey ash lie on the ground.
