A photograph of three people performing a puja outdoors under a corrugated metal shelter beside a large tree trunk. A bare-chested man in a white dhoti with a patterned border and a rudraksha mala stands at left, holding a small object. Two women face the altar: one in an orange saree and one in a rust-red saree, the rust-red saree figure extending a hand toward a cut-out figure. A large standing cut-out portrait of a seated figure in saffron-orange robes, with a crown-like headdress, a garland, gold necklaces and raised hand, stands on an ornate stone pedestal. In front is a brass plate with banana, coconut halves and fruit on a colourful cloth, plus a small brass lamp and kalasha. Concrete block walls and dry ground surround the scene.2019-03-25March 07 20212021-03-07January 04 20132013-01-04March 06 20132013-03-06A woman in an orange sari with her hair in a bun stands at left, holding a brass oil lamp (aarti) in one hand and offering flowers with the other toward a seated figure. The seated figure is a life-size statue or portrait-like depiction wearing a red-orange turban, a red-orange shawl, and layered yellow and white flower garlands, seated on a pink and gold cloth-draped platform. In front is a pink cloth-covered offering with a coconut-like fruit decorated with marigolds and green leaves, and a brass plate with a lit oil lamp, a small bell-like vessel and a spoon. Behind is a black Shivalinga on a gold-trimmed pillared hall with ornate golden columns and trees beyond. This is a temple-hall puja scene; the seated figure appears to be a statue or depiction rather than a living person.2022-12-10May 09 20132013-05-09 +1 copiesOutdoor photo at a Pongal/Makara Sankranti setting near palm trees.
