In the foreground a long-haired man in an orange sleeveless garment and a red forehead mark smiles while holding a brass vessel and a white cord stretched toward a second person in an orange shirt on the right, who also holds the cord. Behind them stands a large white painted bull statue, a Nandi, draped with a golden-brown cloth and set on a blue-framed platform, with a tripod-mounted camera at the right edge. Small purple flowers and a green plant sit on a low white brick ledge. Two or three further people are partly visible in the background.2007-12-25Outdoor temple courtyard under a corrugated roof with trees behind. A woman in an orange saree with a white border and a black head covering stands at right, holding a small brass bell and facing a brown cow with a golden-embroidered orange cloth draped over its back. The cow is tied with a red rope. Behind them a seated statue in saffron-coloured clothing and a red-and-pink garlanded figure sit on a golden platform. A golden seated statue stands at left beside a low stone wall, and stone paving tiles lie on the ground.2022-01-24Outdoor photo of a gau puja at a cattle shelter with brown and white cows and calves in dusty ground behind rubble and a rocky hillside. A devotee in orange dhoti and orange wrap, with rudraksha malas and a vibhuti tilak, holds a lit flame to a brown cow's face while a second orange-clad man with a bare upper body stands at the left, holding the cow's halter. A cup-like brass vessel is in the right hand. The cow wears a decorated halter and harness. Another calf is at the far right. Attribution to a person is unsure from appearance alone.2019-01-16A photograph of a gau puja or cattle ritual in an open cattle shed. A cameraman in white dhoti and shirt films from a tripod at left. In the centre, a person in saffron-orange robes holds a burning flame or torch near the face, with a rudraksha-style mala visible. Behind them a cow with white and black patches and a yellow-and-blue collar stands among other cattle. A figure in orange and white at right raises a hand toward the flame. Red brick walls and a corrugated roof frame the scene, with a concrete pillar in the middle.2019-01-16January 15 20182018-01-15Inside a covered cowshed with pink walls and a ceiling fan, many cows and bulls stand in a row along a raised pink trough. In the foreground, a bull with orange horns has marigold garlands tied to its horns and a rope at its neck. A woman in a bright red-orange sari with gold border stands at the trough beside a copper pot, wearing rudraksha malas. Beside her, a girl in orange dress and a young man in white kurta with a mala are tending the cattle. A photographer with a camera stands among the cows and behind them an orange-clad figure holds a golden umbrella. The scene suggests a go-shala ritual of cow worship or cattle care.2016-01-16A man in saffron-orange robes sits cross-legged in meditation on a low wooden seat placed on a mat in an open courtyard. He wears a long rudraksha mala around his neck and a red tilak on his forehead, with eyes closed and hands resting on his knees. Beside him stands a brass kalasha pot. Behind him is a large black stone Nandi bull draped with a white cloth and marigold garlands, flanked by dark stone sculptures and palm trees, with a terracotta-coloured wall in the background. A patterned mat and a tiled floor surround the scene.2011-02-01
