October 08 20062006-10-08Two men sit close together on a white draped seat before a dark blue curtain and a large white circular backdrop. The man on the right wears a flowing saffron-orange robe and has long swept-back dark hair and a red bindi; he extends his right hand toward the head of the man on the left. The man on the left wears a white shirt and white trousers, a dark beaded necklace, a gold bangle on his wrist, and presses his palms together in front of his chest in a gesture of reverence. The scene looks like a blessing given during a seated gathering.A photograph of a seated long-haired figure in saffron-orange robes with a rudraksha mala draped over the shoulder, placing a palm on the forehead of a balding man in a white T-shirt who has closed his eyes and bowed his head. Behind them, another person in orange and several people in white stand in a room with a red curtain and a bright floral offering in the lower left.2013-07-05A seated figure in an orange-saffron robe with a long dark braid and rudraksha mala places one hand on the forehead of a kneeling young man in a white kurta. The seated figure sits on a red velvet throne-like seat with a saffron cloth beside it. Behind them, a garland of yellow, red, white and green flowers decorates a deity murti, and white-clad devotees stand in the background.2013-07-04A photograph of a seated man in saffron-orange robes with long swept-back dark hair and a red bindi, raising his right hand toward the forehead of a shaved-head man in white kurta-style clothes who is seated with palms raised in front of him. The orange-robed figure sits on a white cushioned seat against a dark purple curtain, with a folded orange towel on the cushion beside them. Swamiji (probable): the orange-robed figure shows long swept-back hair, saffron clothing and a bindi, and is performing a blessing gesture on a devotee. The man in white is a devotee receiving the blessing.A photograph of an indoor blessing. A person in long, swept-back dark hair and an orange saffron garment with a gold-bordered sash and a rudraksha mala wrapped around the neck and chest places a hand on the forehead of a young man in a cream kurta. The young man has palms pressed together raised beside his head. A red bindi is visible on the forehead of the figure in orange. Warm lamp light and a pink-and-gold backdrop with a painted deity image appear behind them.2011-11-29A photograph of a long-haired man in an orange and gold-bordered saffron shawl and a thick rudraksha mala with a gold-toned ceremonial necklace, pressing both palms onto the forehead of a man in a white shirt who tilts his head back with eyes closed. The recipient wears a gold-toned bracelet and a ring. Warm lamplight and a red-and-gold backdrop with a ritual-looking painting fill the background.2011-11-29September 11 20112011-09-11A photograph of two men in close indoor contact. On the left, a person with long, swept-back dark hair wears an orange-saffron shawl and a dark rudraksha-style bead mala, and places his right palm on the forehead of a shorter-haired man wearing a navy and white striped polo shirt and a gold bangle. The receiving man has his eyes closed and head tilted forward. Pale peach walls and a window frame are behind them.2011-11-29December 13 20092009-12-13Photograph of a long-haired man in an orange-brown shawl and multiple rudraksha malas, seated and placing his right hand on the forehead of an older man with white hair and a moustache. The older man wears a white t-shirt with a red name badge and raises his right hand in a palm-out gesture. A woman in a white sari with red border stands in the background, and a person in a white shirt is partly visible at right. Setting appears to be an indoor hall with a white floor and red curtains. Swamiji (probable): the seated figure's long hair, orange-brown clothing and rudraksha malas match the candidate cues, shown in the act of blessing a devotee.2013-07-06Indoor photograph of a long-haired man in a cream dhoti and cream top with a gold-bordered shawl, pressing his right palm to the forehead of a seated man in a white shirt with a red coral bead mala and closed eyes. Another hand rests on the head of a person at the lower left. Behind them, figures in white shirts and an orange cloth stand in a crowded room. The long-haired man has distinctive long, swept-back hair and gold-bordered cream attire consistent with the page's reference to a person, but the appearance is only partly clear, so identity is uncertain.2006-07-30
