A photograph taken from behind of a person in an orange saffron robe and long, curly dark hair, reaching up to drape a red and gold silk cloth over a metal deity murti. The murti has a gilded face and an ornate crown, wears a garland of yellow, red and purple flowers, and sits beneath a gold-leaf carved arch. Another garland of white, pink, green and purple flowers hangs beside the murti. The scene suggests a temple offering with a silk cloth being placed on the deity. The person's face is not visible.2008-03-22A photograph of a long-haired person in saffron-orange robes reaching up to adjust a red and gold cloth draped over a pair of metal deity murtis. The murtis, adorned with yellow, red, pink and white flower garlands, sit beneath an ornate gold-leaf arch. The murti sits within a gilded arched frame draped with multicoloured garlands in yellow, red, green, purple and white. In the foreground lower left, a second person in orange robes stands at the edge of the frame, and a brass oil lamp with a flame stands on the right beside the garlands. Grey stone pillars and a red curtain surround the shrine. The scene suggests a garland-adorning or decorating ritual at the shrine.2008-03-22March 22 20082008-03-22A temple shrine scene where a long-haired man in a saffron-orange robe stands on a raised platform, reaching up with one arm toward the golden arch above two deity figures. The central figures are a male deity with an orange crown and a female deity in a pink sari, both draped with multicoloured flower garlands and an orange shawl. In the foreground a deity murti wears a rudraksha-style garland and a red-and-white flower garland. Two shaven-headed attendants in orange robes stand at left, one holding a cymbal and the other tending a lamp. Brass oil lamps stand at the foreground, and the stone pillars are carved with traditional motifs. The temple abhishekam or aarti setting suggests a ritual worship scene.2008-03-22A man in orange robes with long swept-back dark hair and a white flower garland stands at the left, reaching toward a large black shiva lingam draped with a multicoloured garland of red, yellow, purple, green and white flowers. Behind the lingam, golden deity murti with raised hands and ornate jewellery are adorned with more flower garlands. Gold ornaments and green gemstone pendants hang on the lingam. The orange-clad figure has a rudraksha mala and gold bangles, and the scene is lit warmly in a temple setting. The figure reaches toward a large golden deity murti with a tall ornate crown, a gold face and rich jewellery, tending its face or forehead with the hand. Gold ornamental arches, a gold-handled trident-like staff and garlanded gold decoration surround the murti, with a dark red curtain behind. The scene appears to be an image-worship or pooja setting in a temple-style hall.2009-12-23March 22 20082008-03-22A photograph inside a richly decorated temple shrine. A man seen from behind, bare-shouldered, wears a rust-orange cloth wrapped around his body with a gold border and a gold-chained neck ornament, and his hair is tied in a bun. He leans forward to adorn a small deity murti seated on a gold-framed throne, placing a crown or decoration on its head. The murti wears a white dhoti-like cloth, red and gold ornaments, and an orange scarf. The throne is draped with garlands of red, white, green, yellow and purple flowers, and brass lamps stand in the background beside gilded temple pillars.2012-05-02A man in a saffron-orange robe and a rudraksha-bead-style gold necklace stands at left, both arms raised to adjust or place a jeweled crown on a metal deity murti. The murti is draped with red and green flower garlands, a yellow flower is tucked near its crown, and it sits before a gold-threaded orange backdrop. A ceremonial staff with a golden finial and a trident-like ritual object stand on the right. The setting appears to be a stone temple with carved ornamentation. One person is visible in the scene.2011-12-28A shrine interior decorated for worship. In the centre stands a tall gold-and-black lingam garlanded with yellow, red, green and white flower strands, set before a larger gilded deity murti whose arch is also draped in marigold and multicoloured flower garlands. Two standing figures in orange and saffron clothing attend the shrine: one in an orange garment with long dreadlocked hair and a trailing wrap, the other in a rust-brown dhoti with a red sash and bangles, both apparently performing the worship. Brass oil lamps line the front, and a small silver-and-gold seated image sits to the side. The worshippers stand barefoot on a white cloth, with greenery visible beyond the glass screens.2016-07-19
