February 25th 20072007-02-25A photograph at dusk of a man in plain saffron-orange clothing standing beside a large banyan tree with thick grey aerial roots and trunk. He wears a sleeveless orange top and an orange dhoti-style wrap, with his head bowed and eyes lowered, hands at his sides. The dark background suggests evening, with a low wall visible at right.2010-08-06Night-time photograph of a figure in orange saffron robes and an orange turban standing at the base of a large banyan tree with thick aerial roots. The figure, with long dark hair and a dark beaded rudraksha mala at the chest, leans forward with palms pressed together against the trunk in a reverent gesture. A woman in a green sari with a gold-toned border stands at right near a wooden platform and rope barrier, and another person is partly visible at the far right edge. Strings of lights and tall metal poles are visible in the background. A purple logo appears at top left and copyright text at lower right.2008-12-30A photograph taken at night of a person seen from behind, standing barefoot on sandy ground and leaning against the massive grey, buttressed trunk of a banyan tree with hanging aerial roots. The figure has long, dark, wavy hair falling down the back, wears a rust-orange wrap draped over the shoulders and an orange-saffron cloth wrapped around the lower body, and presses one hand flat against the trunk. The surrounding darkness and dim light make the setting recede into shadow. The person's face is not visible, so the identity cue is limited to the long hair and saffron clothing, and the candidate is uncertain.2007-02-25A man in a sleeveless saffron-orange robe stands in profile at night, eyes closed, forehead pressed against the smooth grey trunk of a large banyan tree with aerial roots. He has long black hair swept back, a white vertical mark on his forehead and a red mark between the brows, and his right hand rests against the trunk. The dark background is blurred with pale foliage. Appearance-based candidate: a person, shown in devotional stillness at the banyan tree.2010-08-09A photograph of a man in profile, eyes closed, leaning his forehead against the large grey trunk of a banyan tree in the dark. He wears a sleeveless orange robe draped over one shoulder and a white vertical forehead mark, with long dark hair tied back. The background is almost entirely black, with aerial roots and tree bark visible on the left. The image is a photo of a single devotee pressing against the tree in quiet prayer.2010-08-06Night photograph of a single person standing barefoot on sandy ground beside a large banyan-type tree with many thick aerial roots. The person has long dark hair swept back and wears a saffron-orange draped garment over a rust-red long-sleeved top, eyes closed and head slightly bowed. Dark trees fill the background. A translucent purple bird logo appears in the upper left corner.2007-02-25February 25 20072007-02-25February 25 20072007-02-25February 25 20072007-02-25July 11 20102010-07-11A night photograph of a man in a saffron-orange wrap standing beside a large pale banyan-type tree with thick aerial roots and trunk.
