A long-haired man in saffron-orange robes stands beside a shaved-headed devotee in white clothing, pressing or applying a ritual mark to the top of his head under a stone pavilion. Behind them, a deity murti with a red-orange headdress, gold garland and ornate necklaces stands beside a dark shivalinga on a black pedestal, with a marigold and red garland draped nearby. Green trees and bright daylight appear through the open pavilion. A second saffron-robed figure is partly visible.

A photograph of a ritual scene at a temple courtyard. A standing man in an orange saffron robe, with bare upper arm, rudraksha malas and red-beaded bracelets, holds a white cord or thread over the head of a kneeling man in a white kurta. Behind them, painted deity murtis with crowns and red and gold garments stand in a shrine, a red wall and garlands are visible, and seated devotees in white and orange watch. A stone-edged pool or basin sits at left, and a red bolster with a folded orange cloth lies at lower right.

A photograph inside an open-sided temple pavilion with red curtains and carved stone pillars. A long-haired man in an orange-red robe pours water from a small ornate vessel onto the shaved head of a bald man in white ritual clothes and an orange shawl. Beside them a second man in orange robes and a gold-beaded necklace holds a drum. Dark polished stone basins and brass lamps stand on a wet floor reflecting the scene. The long-haired man has distinctive long swept-back hair and orange ceremonial clothing, which fits Swamiji (probable) performing the anointing of an initiate, consistent with a poornabhisheka ritual. Three people are visible, including a partially seen attendant at the edge.

The second man wears an orange wrap, a long multi-strand necklace of gold beads, and has long swept-back dark hair with a red tilak on his forehead.
