October 28 20102010-10-28A young boy in a white kurta with a rudraksha-bead pendant stands with eyes closed while an adult's hand, wearing a red thread bracelet, presses a white paste mark on his forehead during an initiation. Behind him stands a young man with bare shoulders wrapped in an orange cloth, wearing a rudraksha mala with large gold-coloured beads and a small pendant, and bands of rudraksha on his upper arm. Other people in white clothes are blurred in the background, and a second hand reaches into the foreground.2017-02-13Close photograph from behind of a shaved-headed person in a white garment with red-brown stripes, seated before a brass tray of silver bowls and small dishes holding white flowers or offerings. The person's raised hands hold a strand of gold beads, and a gold ornamental necklace shows at the neck. Orange cloth is visible blurred in the background. The figure is shown from behind and not clearly identifiable, so no appearance-based identification is made; the scene reads as a puja or ritual offering with a rosary-like gold bead strand.2010-11-01October 10 20102010-10-10February 13 20172017-02-13A young boy in a white shirt with a small pendant necklace stands with palms pressed together and eyes closed, receiving a blessing. A man seen from behind, with long dark hair and a red-and-yellow garland, places his hand on the boy's forehead. Another boy in white stands behind with hands folded, and a golden ceremonial staff is visible at left. The setting appears to be a temple hall with maroon drapes. The blessing gesture suggests a darshan-style ritual.2017-02-19A young boy in a white shirt and white necklace stands with eyes closed and palms pressed together in namaskar, receiving a blessing. A bare-chested man with long braided hair and a beard, wearing a red-and-gold flower garland over his shoulder, places his right hand on the boy's head with a sandalwood or vibhuti mark on the boy's forehead. Behind them, a gold-colored ceremonial staff and a red-and-white curtain frame the scene; a seated person in white with a rudraksha mala is at the left edge. The man with braids has distinctive long hair and a garland; the appearance is not clearly confirmable as a person, so the role is given as a priest giving a blessing.2017-02-19February 13 20172017-02-13A young boy in a white kurta with a rudraksha mala stands with palms pressed together in anjali, eyes closed, as a man's hand rests on his forehead in a blessing. The blessing man, seen from behind and partly in profile, wears a red-and-yellow flower garland and has long hair and a beard; he wears a dark bead mala. Beside them, a partly visible person in white and a gilded lamp stand, with a red curtain in the background. The scene resembles a darshan blessing, shown in a photograph credited to the Nithyanandapedia archive.2017-02-19February 27 20172017-02-27Two young boys sit with palms pressed together in namaskar, eyes closed in prayer, at what appears to be an outdoor gathering. The boy on the right, bare-chested, wears a white dhoti-style cloth with gold border over his shoulder, a rudraksha mala around his neck, rudraksha bracelets, a white vertical tilak on his forehead with a red bindi, and a wristwatch. The boy on the left wears a white garment with gold border, a white tilak with a red bindi, and rudraksha bracelets. Blurred onlookers sit in the background. No readable deity murti or a person is visible in frame.2013-02-26A photograph of a ritual scene in a temple-like hall. A shaved-headed man in a white dhoti with a bare upper body wears white horizontal tripundra markings and a red bindi, and a rudraksha mala hangs at his chest. He holds the hand of a young boy in a white embroidered kurta, whose forehead bears white and red marks. Beside them a woman in a white sari with a red border and a dark beaded mala looks down, and an orange-clad figure with a gold necklace stands at the upper left. Brass vessels and pink flowers sit in the foreground, and a gold ornate panel fills the right edge. The setting suggests a puja or ritual with offerings.2010-10-10
