A woman with long grey hair, seen from behind, kneels before a small home shrine set on a deep red cloth in a bright room with two windows. A large printed portrait hangs on the wall above, showing a bearded man in an orange-red turban, orange robes, layered gold and beaded garlands and gold bangles, seated in lotus pose on a tiger skin; the portrait is a printed picture, not a physical person. On the cloth are polished brass plates and bowls holding red rose petals, a conch shell, a small brass lamp, a glass of dark liquid, and incense smoke rising. A tray of red roses wrapped in gold cloth sits to the left. The woman wears a blue patterned top and a yellow flower in her hair.

A framed portrait on the altar shows a smiling man with long hair, wearing orange robes and a beaded necklace, seated before a tree-root backdrop; the portrait is printed, not a physical person, and the page identifies it as a depiction of Swamiji. Her head is bowed as she folds or places a stack of cloths, including white and striped fabrics with an orange rose on top, on a brass tray. Nearby are a lit oil lamp, brass vessels, a conch-shaped vessel, a small bell and a covered offering plate. Red and orange flowers and a decorative cushion frame the altar, and an open book sits on a wooden stand.

Beneath it sit wooden sandals, a book, and a pearl-and-red flower garland. Brass oil lamps, a silver vessel and a small lit diya rest on a silver tray in front. The scene is a puja offering of food to the portrait, which is a depiction rather than a physical person in the scene.
